The driver claims that the cyclist was standing on the side of the road and threw his bike at his car. This, of course, was before he learned of the video.
It's pretty obvious who are the arrogant cyclists and who are the frustrated motorists.

I've done my share of 100 mile rides over hills and riding with groups, don't sympathize with running anyone over, but have to say that in general and for whatever reason, there is an overwhelming tendency for cyclists to be absolute jerks on the road. Also they appear to be invading this thread. With this being said, I've seen no indication that the cyclist didn't swerve into the car as it was passing.
Consider if the cyclist was indeed riding close to the right side of the road, not in the center as shown in the video, but swerved out there as the car was passing to try and impeded it but misjudged how far to swerve out and got hit, which I think is far more likely what happened then that the driver intentionally hit the cyclist. I don't know, but would like to see if there is more video to verify this.

Yes, that is the mentality I don't understand. Like I hate it when someone in front of me in the left lane on a road with no turn lanes doesn't use the blinker until I'm already stuck behind while he waits for an opening in traffic to turn. - it's very inconsiderate - but I would still feel bad for him if when he turned he got T-boned and broke his legs. There is an appropriate amount of karma to be had and it's not limitless.
He's only "wrong", as you put it, because of the blatant violation of the law by the car.
I happen to agree it's ill advised to ride on the roads, ever, mainly because of murderous douches like this guy. I always ride on rails to trails or indoors because I don't want to end up dead. which is a damn shame, because it shouldn't have to be like that. And judging by a lot of the cyclist blaming responses on this thread, it won't ever change.
Seems like they should close that whole road to cars
The guys a prick but a JD and lots of money. Nothing will happen.
This thread should serve as a wake up call to all of you arrogant cyclists out there (not that all cyclist are arrogant. I'm a cyclist).
Think about this fact: all of the flak you are receiving here is coming from other runners. People engaged in healthy physical activity just like you. Now imagine what kind of attitude that couch potatoes, druggies and drunks probably have about you. All you need to be is considerate.

Ok, that's crazy because it looks very much like the driver hit the biker on purpose. Taking it to the extreme, the biker could have been driving the wrong way on the road heading directly into the car while flipping off the driver of the car and you obviously still cannot intentionally hit the biker with your vehicle.

Two meanings for "wrong".
The driver's "wrong" was an intentional criminal / homicidal action.
The biker's "wrong" was bad judgment. He did not make a good decision by driving in the middle of the lane that is open to vehicular traffic. It's just not a good idea and the proof is there for everyone to see.
Two totally different types of "wrong".

The driver's "wrong" was driving on the road, and crossing to the other side to avoid hitting the cyclist.
The cyclist's wrong was intentionally swerving to the middle of the road and therefore causing the collision as the car was passing.
