Agree. Watching her semi, Montano was around third with 200 to go and blows out sideways into Rogers, pushing her out. Tunnel vision racing. Same thought process today. A shame for BMart.

At 1:35.1-1:35.4 you can freeze it and see Montano's knee hit Martinez' foot. In fact, that is the only way Martinez' rear leg can be so twisted at 1:35.4. Of course If your rear leg is knocked to the outside, your body will twist left and that caused a bump with Ajee.

Montaño has proven herself over and over again to be a class act and a tough-as-nails racer. "Dumb racers" don't win 6 US titles and consistently finish as the top clean athlete in international championships.
I personally think it was more the fault of Rogers who caused the traffic jam by passing on the inside and then slowing down (you can easily read the decision to put Engels in the men's final as reason enough to DQ Rogers), causing traffic by obstructing both Martinez and Montaño's paths, but either way both women got screwed and the eagerness of LRC to vilify Alysia and paint Brenda as a victim comes from message board guys thinking with the wrong head.
Props to Montaño for finishing the race as well. She didn't want a DNF and can't do anything about where NBC chose to point its cameras.

Does anyone have the video of the race? Knowing about the behind the scenes aspects of track & field I would like to see them run the race over. If it is as bad of a foul as being discussed here that running again seems only fair. My thought before watching is just like with accidents and cars. No matter what goes on in front of you as a driver, you are responsible for the front of your vehicle. You trip someone by running up their behind then that is your fault. At the very least Brenda should be given the chance to run against the clock by herself if no one is willing to race her.

She was going to get run down anyway, she wouldn't have been top 3 even if there was no contact.
Our society of wanting to microevaluate everything breaking down video frame by frame is ridiculous. Use a little common sense. Montano was in BACK of everybody when she made contact and went down. Clearly her fault. End of story.
Rerun race? You couldn't do that without penalizing the top three runners who weren't affected.
