Some guy, we will call him Brad, was trying to break the Treadmill World Marathon Record. Him and his buddies were very good and self promotion around where they lived.
Self promo pics taken by a person, led curious others to his other work. His other 'work' included some highly comical pics of people in some interesting settings and poses...
One being the ever famous, Pirate Cat Gun Girl.

Seeing the picture again makes me grin. I was around for that whole storyline, it was damn funny then, and it's still damn funny today after all these years.
The "pirate" part may not be obvious to the casual observer. Let me know if that requires elaboration...

I would love to see them again. The Rexing thread and Pirate Cat Gun Girl are my all-time favs. I was running college XC at the time, and my entire team read Letsrun and got a huge kick out of those threads. It is an utter travesty that they can't still be enjoyed.

"Drop the hammer" story thread. That was good. Loved the story where the guy saw a girl running ahead of him, dropped them hammer and then di**ed her at the line.
