Eventually Solinsky will start running like crap and another American (other than Lagat) will have a breakthrough year and everyone will jump off the Solinsky bandwagon and join the next ride. We have seen this with Webb(07), Hall(06-07), Ritz (late 09) Rupp (early 09). Enjoy the time Solinsky and cherish it because judging by the history of distance running breakthroughs these things don't last forever. Just ask big balls Mottram.

Ritz's 12:56 is still better IMO. Done on a bigger stage and he was even closing ground on Bekele in the final stages. And I think it translates close to 27:00 in the 10K. Though feel free to dispute that. And I'm just talking white people since that is the topic. Bekele's WC and Olympic races in the 10K and his World records are pretty awe inspiring.

Let me know when solinsky outkicks bekele for a sub 13min 5k. Or runs 8:01 dull 2 mile ( A time = to sub 7:30 3k, as komen ran 7:26 3k and only 7:58 2 mile). And yeah, 1.5s behind webb in full mile. And dominating 10k on the road. Below 28min on the road is sick.

Nurmi, Zatopek and Viren rule the roost here. And there are at least a hundred other ahead of Solinksky. the names like Ritola, Kolehmainen, Kuts, Halberg, Baumann, Shorter, Baldini, Lopes, Ron Clarke, Brasher, Ashenfelter, Dick Quax. Brendan Foster, Moorcroft, Bob Schul, Pirie, Cova, Bordin and so many more ring far louder than Solinksky. And I have not even included the middle distance types like Coe, Snell, Herb Elliot, Ovett, Coghlan, Cunningham, Mel Sheppard, Ted Meredith, Bannister, Van Damme, Borzakovsky, Ryun, Jazy, Delaney, Lovelock, Wottle, Wohlhuter, Courtney, Doubell, and so many more.
