Major league pitching?

Most runners couldn't hit a high school pitcher! A good high school pitcher can throw in the 80mph range, which is coming in pretty good.

As with most things, you cannot really appreciate from TV the velocity that a pitched baseball has.

Most people would shit their pants if they stood in a batter box while a 90 mph fastball came towards them.

It would be a major feat if a runner could even get wood on the ball. And if he did, it would be total luck, and nothing to do with skill.

An 18 min 5k is not nearly as singular an achievement as being able to make consistent contact with a pitched ball from a major league pitcher.

It's not so much the velocity that is difficult, it is having the cajones to stand in the box with a real pitched ball coming at you. Anyone with good overall athletic ability would have a chance to make contact with a 90mph pitch. However, standing in the box with a ball being released approximately 52-54 feet from you (which is how close the pitcher's actual release point is to home plate) at 90 miles per hour, sometimes starting at your head if the pitcher has a lot of movement on his pitches, is an entirely different matter.

First - Ubalado Jimenez runs 4-5miles a day and is in fantastic shape (the fact he goes 7+ innings in his last 14 starts and throws 98+ in the 7th shows his endurance).

second - Okay a 18:00 for an elite woman is an F-ing joke. an 18:00 for an elite male would be so f-ing easy to the point of a MLB guy hitting a ball out of the infield in batting practice.

So hitting a homerun in a game would be the same as an 18:00, you gotta be kidding. There are MLB players that can not do that! The are 0 elite distance runenrs that can not break 18:00, so you gotta find something that every MLB could do which would be rediculously easy for them.
