Hilarious video@womens pre-nats

Ok, so I just watched the video again, and yeah, you're all right that it was a monkey see/monkey do affect, but with the volunteers, not with the girls. That guy in the black jacket on the right side was just itching to grab people for whatever reason, and once he started, the two guys in white on the left just started following. After a minute of that, it seemed everyone figured that's what they were supposed to do.

The ladies, as has been pointed out, were basically just staying where they were put for a minute or so until they caught their breath.

It'd be interesting to know where these volunteers came from. I'd assume these weren't completely green volunteers with no track/xc experience, especially the ones dressed alike in the blue shirts. I'd also assume that most/all of them worked the finish for the previous three races, and didn't engage in any such antics. I think the guy in black was probably new, and the others, despite possibly some experience, just followed him.

I was grabbed also ,and though tired ,I could walk. I think it is just a small thing that needs correcting by nationals. I can gurantee you everyone will be going all out, guys included, and it could happen again. The volunteers just need to watch more closely on who really needs the help...all in all I think it was a nice meet.

I hope Tauro gets well soon, she's such a talent.

if you look at the other womans video you can see one of the workers tries to pull that savior shit on ari lambie and she pushes him off ahahah, thats classic.

this was hilarious (not including tauro), but I have never seen that many people falling down at the end of a race, particularly not a 6k, and I have to agree with 'some random chick' that the officials had a lot to do with it. they were literally grabbing many of the women and dragging them or tossing them to the side instead of letting them walk through the chute. that is why many of them were on the ground. I was surprised that they actually left a few of them women to walk on their own power.

Many of those runners were "put down"; they just stayed there for a while. Few of them keeled over.

Have to disagree with the "observer" who claimed the guy in the black jacket in the chute was overzealous. He simply walked her to the fence and dumped her out of harms way.

They could correct the problem if they make it a four-foot fence so runners can be diverted to the sides and can lean on or hang over the fence and hurl or catch their breath.

Them lying on the ground shows that their Coach never taught them about not having your head below your heart.

Can you say embolism?

Yes, it was a little undignified to see runners collapse like a rag doll (Lauren Saylor of Washington) and be dragged by one arm off to the side. Couldn't see from the video how close the ambulance, cots, stretchers or medical personnel were from the finish line. Usually it's a little more effective when you have two people each grab an arm and a leg to lift and move a runner that has fainted or fallen.

There were 3 other races that day and nothing else happened like what was seen in the white race.

I have worked too many kinds of finish lines over the decades and you don't even get that kind of drama in a warm weather marathon. In summary...Acting!

Maybe Tauro should just run normally through the line instead of trying to kick so that doesn't happen to her? It would suck not being able to kick for her, but if she just maintained the pace she was going she would be a lot better off then what happens.

My experience has been that girls are not able to pace thmeselves as well as men and will just keep running a too fast pace until they collapse. Men will slow down some before they hit that point. Last year I saw a girl in a league meet do that but 3 weeks later a boy did it at the state meet.

This "medical condition" was brought up after Junior Nationals about Danielle Tauro, but to me she looked just like any other runner who couldn't hold the pace. You could see her tightening up with 150 to go. At 80-90, she "stood up" but was still trying to stay with Hasay. She was done at 50 to go.

I think the "medical condition" is caused by the effort and not the other way around.

i still think the workers were a little too excited about saving all these "poor little girls" from dying. like i said earlier if you look at the other womans race were one of the workers tries to pull that shit with ari lambie from stanford, she pushes his ass off. i dont know if they were taught as a group that all girls need help standing or what, but its sort of weird.

I doesnt make sense how they can be running and finishing hard a race and then the next second not even be able to walk. They need to toughen up a little. jeez.

its funny how this whole thread is talking about how the girls finished rather than the fast ass times they put up that day. seems sort of backwards to me.

This thread is the most blatant example of male insecurity I have ever read in my life. You guys should all leave your mom's basements, the school's computer lab, your nasty, smelly dorm room, or wherever it is that you are hiding out in seclusion, go see a psychiatrist, and figure out why it is that you hate women.

Working the chutes yesterday at a semi-state high school meet, using the same chip method, we had the same problems with girls and boys alike...the middle of the pack camping on the mat, and we having to drag them away....

I pulled my shoulder out so bad that I actually had to have the trainer put an ice pack on it.

So, it's not really a girl guy thing..just a tired runner thing.

Master Theispan, how far and how fast can you run? It's amazing how some people call others acting when they can't run faster than paint dripping down a wall. There wasn't acting on my part just darn fatigue.

Most of us ladies ran pr's and ran the heck out of that course. Why can't you negative posters look at the fact it was one of the fastest times overall recorded on that day.

It seems as if everyone should be saying how hard the women put out instead of saying we were acting or being drama queens.

Does anyone see the paralell between this and what happens in those revival services where people walk down the aisle and the preacher puts his hand on teir heads and they all fall down, then are drappged off? The exact same thing. someone put those damn chicks under some spell and that's who should catch the shiznit for this travesty.
