Ain't nothin' like beating a dead horse, 399.05, right? Let's mention 1,001 more times about how ugly it was how the boys broke ties with a certain coach while retaining the name "Tinman". I'll guess that your reason for living espouses this philosophy: "HATE IS A BEAUTIFUL THING."
Just watched the race. Ruthe is 16 years old and that was a good reminder of that fact. Despite the talent, he looked out of his depth in a race of that caliber.
And that's ok! He's been running for 3 years.
The kid did fine for his second ever indoor race. But he made a major flaw at the beginning, which screwed his race. So given a do-over, he might beat Cooper, at least in some cases. But of course, Cooper is not at the level of Hocker.
The VT runner threw a few elbows and Sam looked surprised. Don't know if that threw him or not. I was on the infield
Saw a lot of that this weekend ( I believe it comes from indoor close quarters) and runners taking the Paul Chelimo move to the extreme. Literally drifting to the outer lanes with arm out so they wouldn't get passed. I'm talking runners that are way back from the lead. Just show runners are fighting for every spot. I've noticed this move a lot in the high school races I watch I HD Runners. It's great entertainment.

The same runner when lining up got initially got in the wrong place. I think Ruthe can beat that kid in a do-over, as well.
Couttie probably deserves a bit more respect. 3:52 after a 7:36 3K at BU, and he just turned 21. He let Ruthe in eventually and as far as I could tell he just wanted Ruthe to break in without chopping his stride.
Kingebrigsten still has the record. Hocker had lights. It's not like he didn't know where to be to get the record. If he had it in the tank to do it then he would have

Exactly. He's gone 3:53, 3:48, 3:52 so far this year. He's 16. If he did nothing else this year, it would be an all time season for the kid
Katelyn Tuohy has had the same race strategy for 2 years now. go out slow, find the middle of the pack and stay there until the finish.
I thought she looked better today even tho the time wss still mediocre. She was not fading the ladt 800 which has been her norm. Form looked a little better. Still a ways to go. Henes was giving her a lot of attention during and after the race.
One other comment. She still seems to be very popular with the youth who li ed up and waited for an autograph and picture after the race as she crossed the infield.
