Ritz went through a lot of difficulty with infection and never actually came back to the same level after it (meaning 12:56/27:22 tactical in hot weather
I also had surgery with Saxena. Same surgery as Rupp. I sit here 2.5 years later and and why the symptoms are reduced, it didn't "fix" me. In my case Saxena removed the calcification and haglunds but did not address the stress that caused it in the first place. He's a good mechanic, but for some like me I needed someone to guide me to fix the root causes as well.
Aren't the root causes likely somewhere very far from the achilles and the stress gets put on the achilles?
With him but without his fanboys.Jakob is great as a distance runner, but his fanboys are straight garbage.
Jakob’s fanboys follow his lead. Jakob regularly talks trash about his competitors, and he flexes his scrawny biceps before races like a clown. I haven’t missed seeing him on the circuit one bit.
The worst is when he waves to the crowd like he's Queen Liz 🙄
Another year of Jakob fanfictions and hypotheticals written by people who haven't touched a track in their life.
God forbid people are hopeful that a great athlete can return to full health. The idiots celebrating this injury are the ones who have probably never touched a track in their lives. No one with any real time in this sport wishes injury on another runner.
It's so silly that for some reason they stopped the 1500m at Monaco, otherwise Jakob would have the WR now. Coe was prepared to reset all WRs before 2005 jist to get rid of El G's dirty ones, but allowed some imbecile to decide no more 1500m at Monaco.
He probably was like: if I remove El G, I have to remove myself, a bigger doper, and went into self preservation.
Having a doper arbitrate doping has hurt the sport.
Yeah it's over. Jakob will retire with zero world records in Olympic distances, sorry to his fans
Why so negative? You don't like track? Or great runners?
i'm afraid your right. a distance runner having this surgery is the kiss of death history shows. no more PR's or podiums, your body is just not the same and there's younger, stronger, not injured runners right behind you to take your place.
Those of you who have followed over the past couple of years will know I’ve been struggling with my achilles. A persistent and very specific injury that forced me to miss a lot of training and racing. Around 2 weeks ago, the achilles flared up again and we finally took the decision to travel to America for surgery. This is of course not something to be taken lightly but absolutely the right thing for the longevity of my career. The surgery went very smoothly and I’m relieved to have a clear path of recovery back to the start line after many months of uncertainty.
There is no such thing as a clear path to recovery post achilles surgery. That's nonsense. If I didn't read this wrongly, there seems to be somebody intentionally making Jakob injured in the achilles all the time. I don't want to name names but it's quite obvious who that mugger is. It has a 3-letter name.
He now returns to Sandnes and thinks all is fine, and then I guarantee 6 months later, he goes on instagram again and says "sorry my injury achilles flared up yet again and this time I've decided to hang up my spikes and become a good father".

Achilles can happen to anyone, I suspect the intensity that he races and trains it's just something that has a greater chance of happening.
