I had this very opportunity with Sinclare johnson, karisa schweizter, Courtney frericks, and Elise cranny at a big hs meet event mixer. I rightly set a good example and took photos of these exceptional athletes with my kid and teammates. I had so many questions for them in the runner space, but left them alone. In a similar setting, I had a great convo with Jordan hasay. She was gracious with time and gave excellent advise on when to change up trainers for my hs kid runner. At a big pro race, Sara hall was so sweet to my kid and I. It was before the race and you would never know it. Sara hall is a true favorite of our family for the way she holds herself even when she is working!!
So, be human. You all know that we are not asking Keely for an autographed photo of her in that red sheer dress!!!

We were getting into our racing gear in the gymnasium of the hosting HS (in Ashburn, VA), and very close to us was a young woman who looked quite fit who was also getting prepared. I struck up a conversation with her about something or other, and we chatted a little. She said her name was Julia. I'm not sure what we were talking about, but the mention of her having a fiance came up. I asked her what he does for a living and she said that he's a professional runner. I put one and one together and said to my friend that I think that's Alan Webb's fiance. I asked her and that was an affirmative. I saw her again out on the course around the 5K point as she was passing me (I went out way too hard). After the race, we spoke a bit more about running stuff.
