And your head is in the clouds. A bunch of women runners - many of whom were nonentities - running times that would have won all the global championship titles until a few years ago arouses no scepticism in you in a sport known for its doping.
Your problem is you don't understand people get faster through evolution and improvements in training and technology. With all the training advancements and technology advantages athletes have today, they should be running faster than your heroes of the 60s and 70s. Your mind is stuck in the amateur era and views everything through that outdated lens. Time has passed you by.

There isnt any "evolution". With human beings that ceased thousands of years ago. The improvements today go far beyond what training and technology would achieve. Drugs are everywhere - they enable huge gains. Of course ambitious athletes will use them.
You, too, will be known by a 4-letter word, but one that can't be used here. A drinker doesn't wait till bedtime. But what do you know - pig ignorant about everything.

On average, people are taller, faster, and stronger today than they were in the 1960s. Time has passed you by.

That isnt evolution but simply changes in nutrition amongst a population. The same nutrition 10,000 years ago would have had the same effect. Furthermore it doesn't help your argument that it applies to running since many of the best athletes are often smaller than they were in the 60's. Ryun was far bigger than Hocker. Kipyegon is a near midget.

I said on average and you named two people. How about Bolt and Rudisha? I also said on average people are faster and stronger. You just can't handle it because you're stuck in the past.
Armstrong guy--you're consumed with resentments and it's clearly killing you. Holding on to resentments is like eating poison and hoping someone else will die.
The tell is if the women for a nation do markedly better than the men in endurance sports. That is a doping tell.
By you logic it would mean that american distance men were on something last year at the olympics considering how they performed in comparison to the women and then when combined with their tumultuous drop in performance since then, majority weren't even able to make it out of heats.
I mean, it’s obvious to me that her talent outshines her intelligence. She never seems to learn from races, or is at the very least STUBBORNLY avoiding personal changes due to stupidity.
Now GB will end up with zero Gold, relying on Keely and LoserBurgin.
LOL, LoserBurgin, the next great british hype, lost to some irish and was nowhere near the podium.
I saw some stats that the men’s 800m final was closer than the men’s 200m. There was a fraction of a second in it. Max was looking strong the whole way through this competition (unlike the US men who looked, quite frankly, knackered!).
Sorry, where were all the US men? They didn’t even make the final! A country that size. And yes the guy from Ireland (tiny country) also did amazingly well.
It’s amazing when you look at population size and how these islands overperform in general..

Top athletes in this sport aren't generally bigger and stronger. The women's 100m champ isn't any bigger than her predecessors, Lyles is smaller than Bolt, Wanyonyi is smaller than Rudisha, Hocker is smaller than Walker, and so on. The improvements today aren't human "evolution" except in what athletes now use - tracks, shoes, training and, above all, drugs.

Why don't you let go of this folly for a while?
I'm not "consumed with resentments"; I'm simply convinced we are seeing a truly dirty sport out there. All the evidence points to it. Like the T de F was in Armstrong's heyday.

A record 53 nations won medals at these Worlds. I'll reiterate that the US count wouldn't be anywhere nearly as high if Russia (and Belarus) were allowed back.
WELCOME TO THE WORLD ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS TOKYO 25! The World Athletics Championships will be held in Tokyo from 13-21 September 2025. More than 2000 athletes from some 200 countries will come to Tokyo to take part in one...
