1:42.2 at 16 is more than “good timing”. he has one bad race, probably the only one of his season and there are idiots on here calling him a “one off”. you can’t win on letsrun bahahahaha
Equivalent of Hocker running 3:27 and then not being able to come close to that level weeks later in the DL.
hilarious comparison. hocker isn’t 16 years old and cooper isn’t an olympic champion.
With all due respect, you too might find your objective knowledge difficult to execute in a World Championships race. But it’s nice to know your expertise is superior to those who actually qualified for this meet.
Is it sour to get the truth about your compatriots?
I was an elite veteran runner (3rd on the 800m world ranking at 55).
It is as simple as I say world class or not.
Look how Max Burgin ran. That was textbook HEAT running.
I agree with others that Brazier was textbook too.
If anything I think arop seemed like he was trying to be too cautious. Running wide the whole way, trying to do too little the last 100 instead of just finishing the race.
Apparently he wanted to gift his competition 10-12 meters.
Haven´t the youngsters any sense of smart running?
Strand, Hocker and now Cooper.
When I ran my first 800m I knew from watching numerous races on tele that I should try to take the place behind the front runner trying to stay there until the finish.
And if the runner doesn´t want to go to the front immediately then hug the rail until the 500m mark and then move.
Seriously, Cooper looked like a 16-year-old out there. Oh, wait.
Wtf are they talking about Brazier making space that wasn't there, he was protecting his line. Huge bias from Rob
Thankfully the lady commentator (Hanner Englandah?) spoke up and provided the correct interpretation of what happened (guy opened up the rail then tried to cut back in on Brazier).
