I don’t know that it’s age - many 1500m runners (Kelly Holmes) are still peaking at that age. Not sure what went wrong - think she was in better shape than that. But maybe she is past her peak.

He mentioned dealing with an SI joint issue on and off since the U.S. championships, and he said he felt congestion in his lungs in the early part of the race, but he thinks the explanation is more than that. He didn't share what exactly he thinks was the problem, saying he needs time to reflect on it. At the end, he added that he felt more prepared fitness-wise for these championships than he did going into the Olympics, but then he said maybe not.
