Serious question: why do so many people on here have disdain towards Sydney?

Not racing enough is part of it (though part of that seems to be directed at her coach).

The other part is her being so dominant that people are more rooting for the event to become interesting. This happens all the time in sports. Michael Schumacher suddenly gained a lot of haters when nobody else could win a damn race. Same with Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. Can you think of a single fan of another NFL team that rooted for the Patriots and Tom Brady during their dynasty? Exactly.

I also loathe the lack of racing (yes, previous seasons..) which , in the context of the above, could be viewed dubiously. 21 to 22 in particular, where she stopped her season after the 4x4 in Tokyo early August, did no further meets that year, and then ran just twice before the USA's in June the following year. Similar in 23, where she had just 2races between her last meet in 22 and the USAs (and just 1 race in the 10months between Aug 8th 22 and Paris DL on June 9th in 23 (notably her only DL race under Kersee). When you prepare behind closed doors and then come out in WR form, it aint a good look...

One (silly) thing that bugs me is her "good job" to everyone she trashes after the race. Patronizing AF.

Persecution/martyr complex on display. That's actually a big part of it all for some Evangelical Christians. They LOVE to feel picked on and misunderstood.

I won’t assert that the point is true, but if OP noticed something about 51% of posts her opining on the performance of Black runners, took that perception, and then at least roughly weighed that against the performance of runners, then, OP might feel secure enough in advancing an opinion about a particular runner.

In that hypothetical, does that make this a “racist website”? Nope. Would OP then suggest that this is a “racist website”? I highly doubt it.

So that would also be a likely weak investigation for OP. But I’d still consider it far likelier that OP would find a racist individual than that anyone could find evidence of this being a racist site.

And then imagine more posts following. And an onlooker trying to determine the motives of each poster.

Nope.

It would be a weird and highly unusual situation for us to find circumstances that would enable us to call this a “racist site” (within reason).

But I’ll also say that it’s not at all unlikely that in a given year 1-2 posters will say something racist. And probably many more posters.

But very few are affiliated with the ball club. And fewer still speak in a way that we could construe as representing the views of the ball club.

So I hope you’d do research and be very confident before levelling accusations of very unseemly activity before anyone who might appear to be innocient .

WTF are you even talking about? The guy I was responding to called this a "racist site." His words not mine. I disagreed with him. You then responded with a coked up, rambling and confused post with points unknown to the reader, even after careful review.
