He's pacing. A great young Australian runner. He's run a 61 minute half. Planning on running the Valencia half later in the year. He'll give 60min a shake.

30k in a men's paced marathon is often crucial, its unfortunate we missed the point when the pacers dropped off

Yeah it would be great if they could give us some marathon footage. It’s been ridiculous.
I’m trying to watch but it’s impossible. The race is 2/3 over, and this thread has 6 pages. We can’t comment ‘live’ on something we can’t watch.
Kipchoge dropped out the back at 31km
A very good runner up to the half mara distance. Been going very well domestically for the last couple of years. This is his mara debut.
Looks like a move is finally breaking the pack apart just over 31k in. Kipchoge falling towards the back of the lead pack now
Kipchoge getting dropped at 31k
We're at the crucial part of the race when the front pack is splitting and we have multiple choice with Sifan and Eliud..

Looks more like the others pulled away while he stayed at the same pace. He looks good, but doesn’t have a second gear to hang with them.
I copped a slew of down votes for predicting 2:09 to 2:11 or dnf.

A rising star.
Heyne does not seem to be showing up properly on the leaderboard but it looks like he is leading Aussie about a minute ahead of Strintzos.
Isn't Heyne pacing, might be wrong

Is the men's race still on?

Yep, 1:41 into the race
They have passed the highest point of Centennial Park. A slow steady climb to there. Then it sort of goes up and down very gently to St Mary’s Cathedral,
30k splits, Haftu is now nearly 2 min up on second Aussie (Brett), Liam about 30sec behind Brett in third. TDC 4th.
Surely Haftu will blow a little bit but he's got a big buffer.
Leanne and Jess together at 25k.

Mustapha Houdadi probably the least expected to still be there. 39 years old but in PB shape earlier this year with 2:08 in Seville. All the others are 2:04-06 guys
