Definitely not a flop, but I had hoped that 7:23 was indicative of significant improvement at 5000. Thus far that seems not to be this case. He seems right on track at 1500 though.
I think this is fair. He tried to run 12:50ish pace and kick off it today. Wasn’t good enough and slipped from 5:08 at 2K to an 8:00 closing 3K. I kinda wish the 5,000 was first because for now, it feels like an afterthought for many athletes.
.15 behind Sedjati in his first big DL race of the year does not strike me as one tier lower. You rightly have Sedjati in the same tier as Wanyonyi, yet the margin between Wanyonyi and Sedjati was bigger, .32. Hoey is also World Indoor champ.
Moraa is hilarious. She got to the front and screws up every single racers race plan but GHB. Barely runs any extra distance as they all jockey for worthless positioning.

Well Sedjati ran a highly conservative race as he’s wont to do. He’ll raise his level of aggression, but Hoey doesn’t have much of an adjustment.
I don’t know why everyone keeps letting Moraa do that. Surely they’ve learnt by now. Though with Georgia’s finishing speed it worked out well for her.
Reekie makes the same mistakes over and over again. She was completely boxed in then and let a runner with a quicker finishing speed dictate the race. If she’s ever going to do well she needs to take more control. She tends to tie up in the last 100..

A really poor result from Hocker. Hopefully, this was just the usual bad first Euro rustbuster or a result of a heavy training segment. Regardless, he's got three months to get his fitness right before World's. 7:23 indicated 12:40s ability.
