Clearly, they are not able to see the clock to give a 3k split
js
That second pacemaker needs to give his paycheck to Kejelcha
Nico Young is ballsy af to go with this
Every split so far, for 8 laps, has been between 1:01.45 and 1:01.94
Kejelcha not as fit this year.
7:42.09 at 3k
Nico still 5th looking... stressed, but the way he always does. Not letting gaps form.
Blanks in 8th moving up, looking solid too.
Teare back of very long line, not completely out of it but not looking promising.
split 9, 1:04.69
Welp no World record today if kejelcha isn't the sacrificial lamb no one will do it 🙄
spivey,
3:28 for with the spikes?
So why again was this billed as a potential WR? They're not even close to pace.... even a huge negative split won't get them close. Pretty big letdown
9th split was 64.69 tho
949 with 3 to go and tons of guys are there. Amazing.
This post was removed.
Some people have moved up (Mills etc), Nico no longer in 5th
Now looks more like a race than a record attempt.
George Mills on for a British record here
Kejelcha saying I will NOT be the fields rabbit today! Motions Girma by
Aaaaaand they just ran a 64.

Wavelights look like they're on 12:45 pace. Very cool that the announcers, and everyone else, apparently have no idea what's goin on
It's apparently the plan for the first 3k, then the lights will speed up.
Speed up how much? Sounds like the plan was 7:42 at 3k (12:50). That's way too slow for WR pace but they talked about European record pace (12:45)
