I remember years ago a comedian suggesting that pro track races should have average joes in them to highlight how fast and amazing pros are in comparison. Seeing those 400m runners in the back struggling to try to keep up with Gabby Thomas in a 200m sort of had that same effect.
Jackson's gonna crush Whereabouts Lady later this year
Feel like they should have opened with an interesting event or at least some excitement to stir interest.
That race matched that crowd. Thomas is very fast. The rest aren't as fast. Not much excitement there
Samukonga my bet
I already miss the field events. They're just the perfect complement.
This reminds me of the Bermuda meet. Which is not a good thing
They can rebound tomorrow, they just gotta get some food trucks offering curry goat and free weed. The place will be packed.
The crowd is legitimately a massive embarrassment.
So annoying to see PE be pumped into Track for the first time in years and it to be wasted on an ill thought out, US centric, vanity project
200m not competitive with this format
They need to change the angles, move the commentary box close to the fans. Never show that overview angle and just cut to the runners or fan or commentary box. Showing an empty stadium is doing them no favors.
This is so slow...
Even as a devout track fan, I am so bored watching this. They need to decrease the time between events. Less talking, more running.400. Winning time 45 point my guess
Just tuned in. Does Centro ever get to talk?
Gault makes up a third of the in-person audience if you exclude the immediate family of athletes and the commentary team.

More like Grand Snooze Track if they don't pick up the pace. Diamond Leagues flow much better than this!
A condensed event schedule and a smaller venue would have done wonders

Today makes everyone bitching about attendance in Eugene look silly
I like the new Nike kits, though
