Listening to the Podcast, you 3 were slamming the American women for their performance in the 1500. I noticed in the results that Sinclaire Johnson ran a PB. Is that wrong? What's with that?
Weldon Johnson could appear on Nightcap to provide analysis with Unc & Ocho on NCAA Tourney, World Indoor Championships, Coach Prime vs. Asante Samuel.
Brandon Miller went for gold but killed his own race and nearly cost Hoey gold. I think we can dial back the Hoey hype a wee bit. Arop and Wanyonyi arent quaking in their boots at that.
I felt this way prior to today, just thinking people were getting way ahead of themselves. Like a few weeks ago when the LetsRun crew spent several minutes analyzing Hoey’s outdoor 1500 medal prospects on the podcast, I was wondering what the heck Hoey’s done to warrant that—run one 3:33.66? Also a poster recently assuming Hoey was capable of challenging/breaking Noah Ngeny’s 25 year old 2:11.96 1k WR, or Peach Pit confidently declaring he would break Kipketer’s 28 year old 1:42.67i WR, or seemingly the majority of posters ready to just hand him 1:41.xx outdoors. Yes, his improvement is astounding and he’s on a new level now, but he hasn’t proven all that.
Hoey is looking at 142 at worst. 1k is a brutal distance. its like an 8 with 200m more of pure pain. no prediction on that.
