Due to an injury, hard to fault that against him. Anyway you guys seriously need to stop behaving like children arguing about your favorite runners, it's not that serious
It shows that he cannot show up when it matters, Jakob does, and wins more medals.
It was pure arrogance to think he could run such a talented field into the ground in a championship race.
Or stupidity (which is often related to arrogance). Especially since the tactic has such a low success rate. Ingebrigtsen won his 1500 gold medal when Tim C tried the tactic and also failed.
He is either 1) not a level above everyone, 2) afraid of his kick, or 3) not a smart racer.
His times indicate its not one, and his arrogance indicate it is not two, although sometimes arrogance is used to cover up insecurity.
I think people just need to accept that Ingebrigtsen isn't the smartest tool in the shed. That's OK. He is still an amazing runner.
Choosing the tactic for the olympics is the easiest thing when its not you running and you already know the result.
That is the first time I've ever seen that in a mens race. Wow - and now this one is over (as a record chase). Jesus.
Something similar happened in Monaco 1500m 2020 when the pacer went out in like 53/58 for the first 800. Idr if they had the lights though
Hey now Laros are in front lets go Laros
Yeah I don't think the lights were in back then. I mean crazy pacemaking existed forever until WL became common on the circuit. I just have never seen a men races where the pacers just blasted out ahead of the lights for no reason at all.
Hey but nice run by Laros there. Good win too - even with the mishaps mid race.
I truly wish they wouldn't interrupt the track races for the field events. It would be so easy to fill the gaps between races with the field events that were taking place during the race. Yet again, the defining moment of a short race (a fall) was missed because we were watching some Chinese guy do a long jump and stand about talking to his coach.

Good race from Laros. Worth noting that last week (and the week before at BU), lots of folks ran super fast times. At Lievin, only Jakob race at or near at or near world record pace.
Laros running 7:29 should scare everyone btw, that guy's tactics and speed are nuts but he just hasn't been strong enough to use them yet in a championship final
