Yes, my original statement was not complete(by design). But I believe or more accurately acknowledge that COVID caused infections of the heart( as do many viruses). I believe the HC system was overwhelmed to the point where a proportion of these infections resulted in death due to lack of treatment. But also that the infections resulted in outright deaths with appropriate treatment. Add to that all of the other ailments which resulted in death due to the HC being overwhelmed. To me, this is what explains the chart

There is evidence that a significant number of people delayed or avoided medical care during the early peak of covid and a number of papers written on the potential effects of delayed screening and treatment. I haven't paid much attention if there were follow up studies that tried to quantify the cost of this, but it was definitely a hot topic of concern in 2020. Absent evidence one way or the other, the idea that disruptions in medical care has downstream costs is more than plausible. Accepting that doesn't negate the demonstrable net benefit of vaccination.

In early to mid 2020 many were infected with COVID where treatment protocol was both unclear and not effective in many cases. Also people with COVID weren’t always seeking treatment partly because access was limited due to hospitals being full. Once the heart was affected, the symptoms are/were conflated with general COVID, but death tended to be sudden.

Like I said, this initial surge cleared up by mid summer yet the heart deaths continued to rise at the same rate through the fall, suggesting that your theory wasnt a primary driver

The second mainline version of the virus is stronger in the second peak, because it won the battle of evolution against its puny brothers. The thing about younger people is that they have stronger immune systems than older people. So what happens is you have these blitzkrieg immune systems attacking a monster virus with reckless abandon. This leads to something called a "Cytokine Storm," where the body starts attacking itself. This leads to multiple organ failure, and I would imagine the thing that actually kills you is a heart attack, not enough time to deal with the vagaries of not being able to pee.
The EXACT SAME THING happened with the Spanish Flu only it was worse because all the kids were in the trenches. At least the kids not in the trenches got to work on the farm. QED.

Delta was certainly much worse on younger people than early strains. All the more reason to have been vaccinated
