LRC's article analyzing regionals which includes all the qualified teams is now up: https://www.letsrun.com/news/2...

Since both OR and WA have ample points how hard to they even run today?
I'd say if both squads keep the spread tight and not get flat smoked by the other, job done.
Looks like Barnett and nielsen are out today. 3rd and 5th best scorers.

Basically don't get 5th and you're in. Unless some wild card like a Gonzaga or a Portland comes in ahead of them which could lead to them getting locked out
Is the west regional being streamed anywhere?
I know. Not the place to grumble. But is Mercy Kinyanjui of Toledo another 26 year old freshman? No birthdate on World Athletics site. And Google doesn't know either. Jus sayin'
UNC finished 3rd, terrible I guess.
Wake Forest bombed, are they going to miss out?
Wake Forest a couple seconds away from getting sent to the shadow realm by Furman. They barely escape with their nationals entry
Gonna have to get it together for nats. Jojo looked great through 8k and fell off in his first 10K. And they don't have a reliable 5th right now with their injuries
Is wake forest out? 5th is a terrible result for them
Northeast Regional has the clock going for the men but no splits (again)
Wisconsin men it 10th, but running with a 0.7 second spread 1-7

Anyone know the status of Fiona Smith for NC State? I'm guessing she's injured. SI thought she was going to be the next stud D3 transfer a la Alex Phillips. She had a great back story as well.
I was wondering the same. She looked good in the early season.
Phillip was a stud that probably could have been D1 all throughout. He was just one of those that really developed right after high school during his freshman year at John Carroll. He was solid inn high school but not to the level that you could see him becoming as good as he was.

No they are good. Furman was the dangerous one they had to beat.
They have so many points that they are good. A bunch of teams that beat Eastern Kentucky and VT in other races would have to qualify for nats to push WF out of their position, and I don't think thats possible at this point.
I think Wake gets in at 5th but VT at 4th with no points is not a good thing.
Did Eastern K have any points?
Wake leaves the door open now for the MTN and West to block this region out.

Mountain would need some absolutely massive upsets for it to affect them. Like NAU or New Mexico getting 5th.
I could see West though with some volatile results. CBU Portland Gonzaga Cal Poly could all pull some upsets off

Pathetic. No reason to not be using Leone for the Northeast meet every year, this is second-rate garbage
Va Tech ran their 27yo Kenyan, Nicholas Kipchirchir, who ran a 61min half prior to enrolling. He placed 14th today, did not run ACCs, and previously took 6th at the Panorama Farms Invite
Seems like he should be finishing a bit further up...anyone know if he's dealing with an injury? Maybe half fitness doesn't translate as well to XC 10k?
