Fair enough point, although it’s a little condescending to call them European B-elite. -One of them was 0.3 sec late to beat Kerr for the WC gold last year (got bronze) and two other’s pb’s very alike Kerr’s and Wightman’s…
European A-Elite consists of Jakob, Kerr, Wightman and Katir*. You can tell that everyone else is a level behind them.
In the US it would be Nuguse and Hocker and Kessler.
Not much to quarrel about -these guys you call B-elite have been somewhat inconsistent, but at their best they have better times and medals than two of your Americans (yes even better medals than Nuguse). So sometimes they are a little A-level-ish (like when Nordås got his outdoors WC bronze, or his Diamond League win this year, or when the Norwegian, and Habz and Mario Garcia Romo (4th placing from WC) all beat Kerr in Oslo Diamond League in sub 3.30 times, ++).

Weird to leave out a guy with a WC medal just because he have failed to replicate that result (in that case you have to leave out Wightman).
The one thing fans show in these threads is that they have no idea what they are seeing on the track. All they see is their idol.
Come on, Arms. -You know that there are more nuances in the world than this! F.ex ObjectiveObserver doesn’t like Jakob’s showing and waving before the finish line, whereas I like it very much. And when he thinks Jakob is very fast in a 200m I don’t think so. And when Snowflakes and OO think the Norwegian will be fully back in the Olympics posters like Runluppa and my self have been more anxious. And a poster like JWH speaks highly of Jakob as a runner, but doesn’t like him as a person. And quite a few fans think Jakob can crush it in the longer events, whereas some of us are skeptics (until we see it). And so on.
Based on the things above -do you really think we have a uniform blindness..?

Well, good consistancy is somewhat of a key to be considered a highest level athlete. Otherwise it might just be a fluke.

I don’t think Kessler is at that point yet. A really exciting prospect, but he needs to find his feet in Championship races. 2028 will be much stronger for the US.
I feel like it’s Jakob, Kerr and then a big gap to all the rest.

We will see at the US Trials.
I wouldn't say the gap is that big. Nuguse and Tim Cheruyiot are right there. Reynold Cheruyiot just won Kenyan trials and beat Tim Cheruyiot in the process, so he might be in a sub 3:30 shape as well.

Nordas and also Garcia have not shown anything remotly close to the A-Level this year. Wightman has a decent mile and a 1:44.10 under his belt.
For me, A-Level runners are WC / OG medal contenders, maybe 12 runners in the entire world.
As I said: Not much to quarrel about, but you are still too un nuanced: Yes, you are right about Garcia R. but claiming that a guy (Nordås) that this year beat double fourth WC placer Grijalva and one 12.48 low guy (and one 12.50 athlete) -one of them won a Diamond League 5000m last year- is just only a B-level athlete is just plain wrong. Nordås is extremely inconsistent, but at his best he is medal material. And we (Europeans) even have Gourley (3.47 mile this year) in “reserve”…
Well, good consistancy is somewhat of a key to be considered a highest level athlete. Otherwise it might just be a fluke.
You are of course right here, and that’s one of the reasons why Jakob won that easily -that almost all (the best of) his European competitors flopped… But you still shouldn’t call athletes that at their best medals in WC for B-athletes, and place them behind Kessler and Hocker, who also struggle with consistency and their medal efforts…

You are even more obsessed with me than Ingebrigtsen. That's saying something.

yup, Armstrong is a troll. He believes maybe half of what he says, and then it exaggerates that belief further. the other half, he has zero conviction for.
Someone is a troll who doesn't say what you and others agree with.
That you think you can command anyone else to do anything on a social media thread shows there's a place here even for IQs at least one standard deviation below the norm.

Very well said.
It's true. The blindness isn't uniform - some are obviously much more dim than others.
