We merged two threads into 1 and then re-named it so this would be the offiicial thread for the day. The other threads were titled, "Euro 1500 final" and "Euro 1500 final today - can anyone challenge Jakob?"
Wow. And to think nearly all of that finishing gap between him and the field was made in the last 120 meters. This looked like a first rep of a set for him he was so relaxed
Gourley's lack of training showing in a championship with rounds. He pulled a 3:47 out of his arse in a one-off race at Pre, but there's no escaping the need for a base. Jakob barely had to try, the field just gave up on the third lap
LRC add: You also have the women's 800 final at 3:28 pm ET and men's 10:000 at 3:44 but they've put Jakob as the featured entree - the last individual events of the championships - at 4:26 pm ET.
Disappointing tactically from Coscoran. Seemed like he went out with a plan of following Jakob, but when Jakob went to the front he didn't commit and got stuck at the back with too much ground to make up later on.
He trains with Fay who also didn't do great in the 10,000 earlier.
