tell me you're an ignorant american who's never travelled and had jetlag, without saying 'i'm an ignorant american who's never travelled and had jetlag'
Definitely true. I care a lot if he wins or not because I'm a fan of this sport (not of Ingebrigtsen, but that's irrelevant). You care at least as much as i do, because you hate Ingebrigtsen (and for sure also this sport).
Since the sport is all about doping it is a matter of indifference to me who wins, although I do enjoy seeing a big-head get his comeuppance.
Sure -Jakob hit a wall 40m before the finish line. -Cheruiyot didn’t, and would have won without the dive. Why on earth would I deny that..?
I didn't say you were. And, yes - Cheruiyot would have won without the dive. He was closing fast on the line. But it reinforces my point about Jakob's relative lack of kick.

He hit a wall of fatigue a little sooner than usual (also according to himself in interviews) because of poorer shape, after kicking away from Cheruiyot. The latter had more strength, but less kick… But of course if this happens all the time we must redefine Jakob to a poorer kicker.
If anything, this result makes him look pretty invincible. He had what, 200-250 meters max of drafting in that race + starting off the bend in the start? He essentially front-runned a 3:29 near the start of his season (his seasons always start late may). I wouldn’t be surprised if he got into 3:26-3:27 shape by july/august.
