It’s tough. Nobody is good enough to deserve the double, so perhaps he and Kipkorir go top 4 at 5k trials and then they split it up. If I were AK I’d want Kibet, Mateiko and Ebenyo and then Krop Kipkorir and whichever young guy steps up.

I think Kipkorir would be good at 10000 and I'd try to keep him there. I agree Kibet and Ebenyo would probably do better at 10 than 5 and Kipkorir is perhaps more capable of succeeding at 5 than the others but I wouldn't say more so that he is at 10.
I was very impressed by Mateiko's kick which has disappointed previously. Its an interesting approach to this race for him coming off marathon training, adding a bit of speed after London DNF then racing here. The question I guess is can he keep it going till August after a big block or marathon training since probably December at least last year
The Kenyans love being freeloaders don’t they. Remember what happened last year with Kipyegon and Gidey? Have you even seen them push the pace on a 5k or a 10k before?
Yes people like Henry Reno just sat and kicked their way to 4 world records
Historically it's the other way around. Many more instances of Ethiopians sitting on Kenyans. Geb and Bekele were masters at that. Remember the Tergat and Geb Olympic race.
They opened the NBC broadcast talking about Sha’carri. My “bold” prediction in habs’s fantasy league was not picking Sha’carri for top 3, but I won’t be surprised if she makes a fool out of me.
Am I the only one who thought Bassitt just flat out looked bad. These are the fields that he should be crushing. I love the dude but this didn’t give me a ton of confidence.
