Is it legal to drop out and then return to pace other runners? I hope she didn’t cost anyone a qualifier.
couldn't see if they stepped off the track vs. just moved to outside lanes, then popped back into lane 1. seems like something that could be illegal, but in a world of pace lights (that apparently can be reprogrammed midrace)....would be pretty nonsensical.

I don't get why they don't just let men pace women and let a car pace men.
I mean this is kind of SHOCKING to be honest. I figured there must have been some sort of agreement for the two On athletes to run together but that's not happening but maybe that's cause Monson isn't running well.

It's not a robust competition, no world class Africans, nothing at stake, believe it or not runners are human and can't just step on the track and make magic.
Can I just say this now? This is an absoloute disaster. From a perfomrance standpoint, broadcast standoint (which is impossible so it's not really anyone's fault), etc.. Looks like Kealti is about to fall off pace. Can she please rally with the Scot? My god.
Glad everyone skipped the championship meets to run a 10k and be off pace within 10 minutes. The incentives of this sport are so messed up. Kelati, who is running world xc, is the only one running what she set out to.
