I don't even like Joe Rogan, he strikes me as just another pseudointellectual like all the Youtubers out there (though with much more reach obviously), but it does seem like marking him as a "red flag" is just the continuation of a recent trend of young women seeking to modify and ultimately control young men's behavior via the dating world. Maybe that's always been a "thing" with each era's cultural stuff, I don't know. But it does seem like there's a pretty strong effort, at least in online discussions of dating, where women are ever further limiting the acceptable hobbies and features of men they say they're willing to date, some of it controllable (Joe Rogan fandom) and some not (height under 6 feet).
But out in the real world this stuff only has so much influence. Get away from the terminally online urban world, and go visit the 'burbs or a rural area and people are more open and accepting to guys (and gals!) not matching the perfect trendy archetype of the opposite sex.
