For all the "hug the rail when lapped" folks, please note that at least three men appropriately moved wide when being lapped, allowing the leaders to seamlessly hug the rail around the curves in the last few laps.
Run wide. Start running wide early. Show the leaders that the rail is for them.
I actually agree with you but I know it will get down voted because it's not politically correct to critique the style of one of America's greatest runners.
To me, the best form is someone like Sam Atkin who actually looks like he's jogging when he's running very fast. I used to like Galen Rupp's form for the same reasons.
Nico is a great runner, but from a style/technique point of view I don't think it's as efficient or aesthetically pleasing as many other world-class runners. People will say that's irrelevant because he's just run 1257.
As someone who is smarter than you, and no it is not close, I was responding to all the morons who claim Nico can run a super fast mile. So try to keep up.
The super shoes are so awesome. I ran in them today and even though I am old and slow, they made the whole workout x% easier and I ran x% faster than I would have in my 1993 Pegs or other EVA trainers. If I could have trained like this day in and day out when I was young, OF COURSE I would have been faster...
I don't like his form. He doesn't glide gracefully, he lifts his legs up and then slaps his feet onto the ground. I think it is the type of form that won't lead to longevity. (almost looks like he is running in place) Connor Mantz does a similar thing and he just had a stress reaction in his femur. Yes, they are two of America's best, but compare it to every African runner, who flows and glides. Runners should emulate that. Don't slap the ground with your feet.

Yeah, people don't realize that he is pounding his legs harder than he needs to. The bones and muscles will breakdown at some point from this flaw.
