Keino cheated Ryun out of Olympic gold in Mexico. Keino was the most obvious doper until Ramzi came along.
1/ Kenya did not dominate until EPO.
2/ Kenyan success (not domination) before EPO can be attributed to doping (roids and blood transfusions) and the fact that Kenyans (and other East Africans) were effectively full-time pro athletes competing until their mid or late thirties while Western runners were part-time amatuers who usually were forced to retire at their peak and get a job (Bannister, Elliott, Snell, Ryun etc etc.).
1) If Kenya "dominated" or not, on the men's side, Kenya was the most successful distance running nation in the four decades before 1995.
2) Maybe you got it partly right here, that Kenyans were better trained than Europeans/Australians/Americans.
Since I'm honest I'm going to say they were lacking support at that time. Look at Dave Moorcrof at this race, world recorder of the distance 2 years before ... he was dropped one round before.
Isn't this a proof that Britain were doping at that time? By the way Aouita didn't get the mile record because the Britannic were removing his name from the dream mile of Bislet Games every year (1985; 1986; 1987; 1988, 1989 and that that coward of Cram that was removing his name from the lists).
You can see the medias were racists at this time surrounding Cram as he was a king. And this was happening in Norway the country of democracy.
I don’t understand. Do you just wake up each day looking for things to post to pîss people off? I mean, it’s literally EVERY ONE OF YOUR POSTS without exception. I just can’t wrap my mind around it. How can someone be this way?
The runner's up time is even more crazy. Emmaculate Anyango Acholi runs 28:57 despite having never broken 15 minutes in the 5k or 32 minutes in the 10k on the track.
She now will become one of the five favourites for the Olympic 10000 on the track after an outstanding few DL 5000's in the next 6 months and a great time in Hengelo
I will be coming back to this often this year, just to see how she went.

agree with covette maybe seventy percent on african doping but the above comments are rediculoud. snell "worked" as a cigarete company. john walker for a radio station . silver spoon bannister had illegal pacing. in the 60s there were under the table appearance fees which became an open secret in the 70,s and you had to be stupid to take open payment and be declared a pro . such was the blantant hyoocracy. viren "worked" as a policeman where he should have arrested himself for reindeer juice crimes. the rntire iron curtain was juiced out of their gourd. in 1968 the american sprinters were juiced out of their gourd. etc etc.

I use the procedure of "brute forcing" so that minds that are stubborn see a bit of light...
Here is an example of the Kenyan Paul Kipkoech that ranked 5 in Los Angeless (1984) while your prodigy WR ranked 14.
Paul Kipkoech won the 10,000m at the 1987 World Championship in Rome. He was the first Kenyan gold-medallist at a world championship on the track but it was not so much the victory itself but the manner in which he achieved i...
Kipkoech was an introverted figure who often seemed ill at ease with the celebrity his running had brought him. In recent years he became prone to drinking bouts and died in impoverished circumstances.
(Fredrik Sandvik is primarily a steeple chase runner, hoping to qualify for the Olympics, and barely finished in front of Agnes)
+1
The start and finish are at the same place so Ghost saying there are downhill kms is incorrect. His splits show a fairly flat course in terms of elevation gain or loss for each km.
- 20+ seconds faster than the next believable time (aka doped up)...
- But only one is faster than its equivalent on the track.
Only one possible conclusion...track is clean.
Side note: in my country, the best female crop would be 2km away when she crosses the finish line. I have to admit and confess, I guess there would be nobody, fully doped up, that would be able to follow her for more than 2 or 3km. A single sub 3min00 km on flat ground is no joke for a woman (actually, even for 99.9% men).

sure call out doping. everybody.
not just one bunch
I didn't say there wasn't hypocricy, but the fact that they all retired when in their prime pretty much shows that they weren't professional. John Walker, Ovett, Coe were really the first generation that were able to make a full-time living from athletics, even though it was still officially 'amateur'.
On the other hand, Kenyans were given 'jobs' such as policemen, just as they do now (Rudisha, Kiprop etc etc) and don't do a days work, so they could train full-time as professionals. Bikila - the ultimate proof of superior East African genetics - was a 'soldier' handpicked from hundreds of thousands of young Ethiopions - who spent every day at high-altitude training camps doing 150 MPW including track sessions while the likes of Jim Peters were squeezing in 40 mile weeks after work.
None of those who believe she is clean can explain how a female road runner who has just emerged in the last year is almost as fast as Billy Mills was on the track at Tokyo '64 and Ron Clarke the same year, when he held the world record. As another poster pointed out, she wasn't using the new shoes either. Only one thing can enable a woman today to get near the very best males in the sport in a previous era - who themselves weren't doping or they would have been running way way faster than 28:24.
Kenya was the most stridently opposed to prizemoney in athletics for this very reason. They didn't want Western athletes able to compete on a level playing field with them. I have a newspaper cutting from 1978 in which it states that several Kenyans were suspended by the Kenyan federation for simply racing against European athletes who had raced in an athletics meet suspected of handing out appearance fees.

27:39 in '65 is faster than 28:46 almost 59 years later - but just a little...

We can explain it. It's just that you don't accept the explanation.
In '64 the wr - held by Clarke was 28:15. Mills won at the Olympics that year and was only 20 secs faster on the track than this female road runner over the same distance.
We also see that in '64 the men's 800 record was 1:44. Women are only running 1:55 today. They aren't strong enough to close in on male times over that distance - even doped to the gills - but the huge boost in endurance from doping is bringing women close to the male greats in '64. There is no progress in training, shoes and nutrition that enables that kind of improvement in aerobic capacity. And it shows no signs of slowing. Expect a woman to run close to 28 min in a year or so.

You can't explain it and you haven't tried. You simply think she's clean - as though doping doesn't exist in the sport.

Jim Peters worked full-time in an optician's shop. He was famous for his low-mileage until his 30's when he gradually built up to 100KMW. There are numerous references to this online.
