Here is the bottom line, women are women. Some are assigned female at birth, others choose it later in life. For the purposes of anything not dependent on genitals they are the same and should be treated the same.
Let them use the pronouns they want, bathroom facilities that match their identity, race as the gender that matches their identity. It is more important to be kind and inclusive than worry about sports.
Women's sports doesn't need protected from other women, it just doesn't.
Nobody can choose to be a woman. It's predetermined at conception. Sorry!

False. Gender is a continuum, not Boolean. If someone with male genitals wants to live as and identify as a woman let them. If they want to bounce back and forth between the two let them. No skin off my behind

Can we also choose to be a different species? How about a rock? A tree? A mountain?

Gender does not exist. Being a woman is not merely acting out arbitrary social norms associated with that sex.

A video of nearly 1,000 people who identify as dogs went viral, stirring up a range of reactions online. The event, organized by 'Canine Beings,' was captured on video at a Berlin railway station.
Few people, if any, are "assigned" a sex or gender. At birth, except perhaps in very rare cases, the sex of a newborn is observed and recognized, not assigned.
You should also prefer "8nclusion" of the truth instead of your lying rhetoric.
Perfect, you get it. Semenya and Chand were indeed not “assigned” by some medical expert or government or the like, just “observed and recognized” by family and common folk around them as the ladies they grew up to be.

Sorry to break it to you honeybud, but the sports governing body WA, the DMV, the federal government, and practically every corporation that has any respectable valuation worth protecting disagrees with you.

My god, you people are so helplessly brainwashed.
Fine, but the people experiencing and performing gender don’t need your buy-in, nor do you have any control over how they live their lives, so I can only imagine how frustrating it must to be you.

I have a boy and a girl. I'm aware of their different genitals. None of that matters as far as gender identity. If the girl identifies as a boy later in life or vice versa so be it. I want them to run as the gender they feel, not what society assigned to them. I really don't care a out classification and separation like that, I prefer 8nclusion.

Actually, since the 1980s, it's been common for HCPs to observe and record the sex of human beings in medical records long before birth. Any pregnant woman getting standard prenatal care will have a fetal scan via sonogram in the second trimester. These scans are pretty near 100% accurate at revealing the sex of fetuses from 14 weeks on.
In countries where there's a strong preference for male children and female children are regarded as burdensome and inferior, such as India, scans are also commonly done outside of medical settings so that female fetuses can be aborted. This - along with other unfortunately common practices like female infanticide, and not giving baby girls medical care or food - are why there are tens of millions of "missing girls" in India.
In addition, for women who have access to decent medical care during pregnancy, fetal genetic testing through amniocentesis has been available since the early 1970s - and through CVS since the mid-1980s. CVS can give a full DNA profile of a fetus at 8-9 weeks. I had CVS when pregnant more than 30 years ago.
Nowadays, there's also the NIPT, the widely available test that can tell the chromosmal and genetic sex of a fetus from 9 weeks on using a sample of blood taken from a pregnant woman in the standard manner.
For decades, DNA testing of fetal remains has been done in cases of miscarriage where it's medically indicated, too. That's how it was learned that 15% of of known miscarriages are female fetuses that have the DSD condition known as Turner syndrome, where the second X chromosome is missing, resulting in a 45,X karotype.
So anyways, it's most accurate to say that in much of the world nowadays, sex in humans is typically discovered and recorded 7 to 5 months before birth. When a baby is finally born, his/her sex is confirmed by other means, noted and recorded again.
All of which just goes to show that the gender identity lobby's pet phrase "sex/gender assigned at birth" is a bunch of idiotic malarkey made up and spread by people who don't have a clue.

You are especially adamant about denying the reality, "lived experience," human rights and needs of human beings who are female. Your whole fatuous claim to the moral high ground here is based on the pretense that imperious adherents of gender identity ideology like you autocratically deciding and decreeing that girls and women must be forced to forfeit fairness and safety in sports - and we must be made to share women's and girls' locker rooms, loos, shelters, sororities, dorm rooms, prison cells, bunkhouses, fitting rooms, etc with every Tom, Dick and Harry who says he "feels like" a girl/woman or likes to wear a lot of pink - is somehow for "the greater good."
It's a sign to true desperation when you have to fabricate such a blatant strawman to feel superior.
As I have written multiple times, I totally support the new WA policy on DSD and transgender athletes. So that's categorically different from what you wrote above. You, on the other hand, don't support it because it does not go far enough.
More importantly, trans women are not "men who like to wear a lot of pink." You are taking the cause and effect completely upside down. They dress like this as a kid because they want others to see them as girls.
Every major sports organization agrees this kid should be allowed to play. More than 20 states in the US would not allow her to play. Can anyone explain why you agree with the latter? Does she have any unfair advantage?
16-year-old Rebekah loves to play field hockey with her friends and is a valued team member. However, as a transgender teen, the joy and community she feels ...
Just replace the gender-based division of sports with biology-based division, and the problem is 90% solved. Yes, lots of people would still be unhappy, as they always are with compromises. Conservatives will still complain about the "woke nonsense" of having "open" and "restricted" competition categories, instead of men's and women's categories.
But, you'll be able to identify as whatever you want to identify as. And you'll compete with your biological and biomechanical peers, thus preserving the spirit of the original division of competition that gave rise to women's sports.
"Restricted," obviously, would be for women, trans men, and others who haven't had male hormone treatment. Open for men and trans women and other XYs. Trans women who take up hormone therapy would still need to compete in the Open category because of the puberty-based benefits they obtained from their XY chromosomes. Some may complain about that, but that's the other side of the compromise.
There are other, smaller groups for which you could debate which category they belong in, but regardless of how that plays out, you have no need to mess with the general structure.

What a bunch of pointless Verbosa crock as usual that’s neither here nor there. Female infanticide in India or elsewhere has nothing to do with the subject matter. Sex assigned “at” birth does not preclude knowing it before. Many parents choose not to know it before, and in any case, a birth certificate is the first documentation of sex that matters for anything in much of the world.

BTW, this is another classical example of "conservative trait #2." You do not understand why trans women identify the way they do, so you manufacture this made-up theory to fit trans women into your alternative reality. That removes your anxiety about not understanding something.
Honestly, I don't understand it, either. But instead of creating alternative reality, I try to listen to medical professionals who have observed and diagnosed trans people for years. At least they give me better insight than some random message board poster who calls anyone who disagrees with her ideology "misogynist" and "male supremacist." I am still waiting for your answer on whether you think Gloria Steinem and Julia Gillard are misogynists.
Lots of male children and men are beautiful and look absolutely gorgeous when dolled up in "feminine" clothes and makeup.
I posted a Getty Images photo of Brian Eno circa 1972 here but the link is now not working.
Plenty of boys and men like wearing their hair long, twirling about in frocks and spinny skirts, and strutting around fanning their proverbial feathers like peacocks. Oodles of boys and men enjoy wearing women's and girls underwear. Quite few get boners from it.
Conversely, lots of girls and women like wearing our hair short, are not into looking "girly," loathe the color pink, don't carry purses, and have no desire to paint our faces or fingernails.
So what. None of this changes anyone's sex.
Let kids be kids. If boys want to wear dresses and pink, and girls want to be butch, let them. But FFS, stop telling them and the world that kids' nonconformist taste in clothing, toy preferences and personality traits mean they were somehow "born in the wrong body" and they need to go to a "gender clinic" to be chemically castrated, sterilized and surgically mutilated.
Instead of creating massive problems for girls and women by continually trying to force males who don't fit masculine stereotype into female sports and spaces, it's high time you and other supposedly "progressive" guys practice some of the inclusivity you constantly preach. Show some generosity of spirit and tolerance by making an effort to insure that boys and men who are different to you feel welcome and at home in male sports and in the men's locker rooms and loos where they belong. Stop being so bigoted towards males you regard as too soft, too sissyish and too unmanly to stand alongside you and be counted as bona fide blokes.

Ha ha ha ha ha, the verbosity of spirit and richness with which the generosity of spirit and tolerance towards boys and men is being advocated cracking me up.
“Stop being so bigoted towards males”: true words spoken by the one with the most vicious contempt and insensitivity on these boards towards female-identifying males.
