Addy Wiley racing Diamond League final?

I know a male runner with barely superior 800/15/16 PRs but who likely would be significantly better in 3k/5k. Even he had 53 leg speed. I wouldn't be shocked if she could run 54.x

What really "clicked" was she had competition in that 2:04. It was the only 800 of the year where she finished 2nd place. In all the others she dominated and had nobody near her.

I was really trying to understand 57 for 400 and 2:04 for 800, granted several months apart.

Typical 8/4 ratio for distance oriented runners is about 2.15-2.25

Maybe she is "distance oriented" but I have not seen results to indicate that. 2:04 800 and 4:26 1600 and 10:27 3200 in 2022. Maybe she never pushed herself in the 3200....or the 2022 NAIA 5K XC Championship losing in 16:58. I just don't understand the "body of work"....but if someone can explain it please do.

Hiltz revealed @4:33 that Wiley is running the World road championship Mile. So Wiley probably won’t run the DL final but Hiltz herself hasn’t heard anything from them yet. There is still a chance Wiley might be invited but I guess we will find out in a couple days.

I'm very conflicted about Wiley but I applaud her for competing in many events that seem too "unimportant" for the other athletes.

I have a feeling that Wiley being in Eugene racing the DL Final has everything to do with if Nike wins the bidding war, or if another company offers her better terms and overall contract value. I’m sure that whomever her agent is has been putting in the work with the shoe companies since she ran 1:57.46. Hats off to that person for recognizing her talent and potential and not getting distracted by the letsrun and legal noise. And most of all, hats off for putting Rojo in his place and screening his call. Twice!

Just thinking in mercenary terms, she comes with baggage, scandal, serious questions about peds and whether her performances are sustainable, and zero chance to medal.
