People called it and I just didn't believe they would be so stupid to again run the race right into Jakob's hands like that.
In the end it was Katir (kind of out of nowhere) that at least made the race as interesting as it was because otherwise Jakob would have been Steve Ovetting up the home straight again like he did in Eugene.
I just can't believe with all those guys have run in the low 12.40's this year that they wouldn't really hammer it from 2400-2000m out. Stunning
JI not feeling well - you can tell by his facial expressions. Likely a cold. I agree he needed humility - he will remember this one as the one he toughed out.
Hope to see him make history in Paris next year, though this race also made me root for Katir!
He looked rough to me. Definitely wasn’t toying with the field. Got to give it to jakob. That was super gritty and impressive if he truly was dealing with illness
Zero guts from the Ethiopians. All year they are blitzing 12:40 on the Diamond League and their brains short circuit in Global Championships. Let it turn into a jog and the two best 1,500 runners smoke the field.
They pushed it but never went hard enough to break the top 4 (all great kickers). Bad tactics.
Grijalva needs to marry a nice AMerican lady and get citizenship already. He is ready for a medal!
in all seriousness, wish our crappy gov't would do something to give a path to the dreamers.
I think team USA has lost him for good and that’s on the USA. He’s 100% a kid from California, every bit an American and our f’d up politics unable to recognize it.
Katir shadowed Jakob the whole race, made a strong move with 300 to go and got caught with 10m to go. He did what he intended to do and it almost worked for gold. He's happy with silver too.

Does Aregawi legitimately believe he can outkick Jakob in the last 400? Is he delusional?
Men’s 5,000 prediction: Woody MF Kincaid is about to drop an absolute monster 53 second final lap to finish 10th
Honestly it becomes harder and harder for me to root for Jakob. He barely out kicks Katir and then gestures at the camera like that was easy, exactly like he did after the 1500m semi final.
I’m all about showboating and I don’t mind it usually, but it’s kind of weird to do that after just getting out kicked in the 1500m and barely outkicking katir here.
