Allie Ostrander is a clear cut doper. I guess the transparency was an act. Time for her to find a non-running related career. She can’t be gone soon enough.
A group of trail runners have signed a pledge as part of Run Clean, Get Dirty— a platform that showcases clean athletes in trail running. It was started by Paul Kirsch and David Roche and featured athletes on the site have taken a pledge to be clean. If caught for doping, they all agree to be banned for life from winning prize money or getting any recognition in the sport.
Notable trail runners who have taken this pledge include Kilian Jornet and Emelie Forsberg and Canadians Calum Neff, Ellie Greenwood and Gary Robbins– the Vancouver runner who is especially famous for participating in this year’s Barkley Marathons.
There's similar articles from Trail Runner and others about that pledge that they all signed, including Camille Herron, calling for lifetime bans.
honestly the reason she has bad acne is her body is finally fully maturing/developing/going through puberty at this late stage post-ED treatment- this is classic for girls who under-eat for years and therefore do not get their periods like they would naturally otherwise as pre-teens/teens. when they finally do get the nutrients they need, the body absolutely races to fit in all the changes that would have happened more gradually otherwise (including acne forming) which would have been less noticeable because most other girls around you at the time would have been experiencing the same, likely less aggressive, changes at the same time (12-18yrs old rather than 26yrs old).
don't get me wrong. i think she's annoying as hell and apparently also careless but the testosterone acne hypothesis is mean-spirited and wrong
I don't know Spence or Allie, but gotta give Spence props for keeping it together. The boards see him as lazy, a bum that just mooches off Allie, doesn't train hard and fails to race in Europe.
Meanwhile he's keeping his head down, grinding away and being supportive and protective of Allie. He doesn't bite on LR, diss the haters on youtube or allude to anything that is holding him back.
Not many would know for sure, but for me the above explanation is pretty plausible. The ban itself was short, which says something.
He hadn’t PRed for four years leading up to this so it’s not like it affected him too much
This whole thread is making me so sad. I hope Allie O is okay. She’s worked so hard to recover from her ED and injuries and been amazingly transparent about it all and inspirational for other athletes. Then to be hit by this BS ban for a common acne treatment, what a disappointing and unnecessary further setback. Rooting for her to ride the wave of sh!t she’s going to cop with the humility she is famous for.
The fact that this was only a 4 month ban indicates how minor an infraction it was deemed to be. Unless people have any other evidence of something more serious, that is all it was. What makes following this sport so surreal is that the same "fans" who react so severely to a technical infraction will be utterly blind to the actual major doping issues in the sport. On the same point, the antidoping rules are clearly applied in a grossly uneven way from country to country. In some countries you get nailed for skin cream. In others the AIU cannot find the mountains of PEDs if it fell on them from orbit.

I don't think Camille has any standing to be calling for anything after what she has done. If Camille is going to harrass Allie at trail and ultra races, then all she has to do is show Camille a book about statistics math and tell her to go read it.
I blame The Athlete Special for Allie O’s current misfortune. She should’ve stayed with Brooks and kept steepling and working on lowering her 5k and 10k times.
Instead, she followed Spencer’s undisciplined approach and Ari’s unproven coaching path. Worst of all she started the YouTuber lifestyle of documenting herself for the interweb to view. The need to present a fresh face for the camera likely was the reason for searching for a quick fix for her acne without doing the proper research.
Although there is the possibility that as someone who tried to hide their Eating Disorder for years is hiding something else.
Rule #One- Never Trust The Interweb
Rule #Two- It’s Easy to edit out Truth and Reality in a ten-minute video clip of your daily life and present what your viewers want to see for the best monetized results.
Rule #Three- Putting your life on the interweb is never a good idea.
Amazing she gets done for an acne cream yet Kipchoge, Bekele, Farah, Cheptegei, Kiptum etc. have been doing full throttle EPO for years if not decades.
When people find themselves in suspicious conditions, I give them the benefit of the doubt. However, when they are caught, the goodwill is completely gone. Who knows how many competitors she stole from over the years?! She derives every bit of derision and scorn that comes her way, and she should never speak of running again. She is a disgusting human being. She has fooled so many people by pretending to overcome personal issues and faking transparency. She is a fraud, and I hope this becomes all that she is known for.
Cheaters should be viewed consistently rather than assigning guilt or innocence based purely on whether or not you think you like them. All we know is her charade, and those backing her now are utter fools to continue to be so easily deceived.

Something tells me these women would have a more rational view of Allie’s case than you
