I’m confused so she is trans? Going to transition to a he? Obviously post running career bc she can’t start testosterone and compete. I thought she was gay.

Along those lines I’m curious what her girlfriend thinks of this. Can you imagine dating someone and one day they wake up “feeling” like the opposite sex? I guess sometimes she’s straight based on how Nikki feels

Yes, sounds potentially interesting. Partner could be bi.
How can Hiltz compete in the women’s division when she doesn’t identify as a woman?

Decide if you think gender or sex dominates participation criteria instead of pointless prattle that’s neither here nor there.
Just trust the science. Hiltz is stunning and brave.
So much of Nikki's grief on these boards and elsewhere comes from their explanation of "non-binary" in the first place. It just didn't seem like a good way to get their point across to say that some times they wake up feeling like a guy being a dude and others a powerful queen. That didn't seem to resonate with people.
A lot of times with trans people who come out as trans, the way they describe the feeling is way more impactful. I don't understand what it feels to be trans, but they don't generally make it sound so trivial and arbitrary. There's real palpable confusion involved, agony and turmoil. I don't want anyone to go through hell just to be understood, but I'd imagine that not having your gender align with your biological sex is a powerful feeling. Nikki made it seem like a quirky personality trait.
