A couple of observations from my life, I'm male, so it's male dominated. I'm 35 married with 2 little kids.
1.) For most people dating can be really hard and frustrating.
I spent my first couple of years in my late teens pining after a girl who wasn't interested. Then 3 out of the next 4 girls I dated had the relationship ended because they started seeing someone else and I found out via facebook. I didn't really have other experiences which were quite as traumatic, but dating involves lots of rejections and being ghosted. It also made it hard to be care about being empathetic towards the women I was dating (which made the process even more frustrating).
Obviously, these frustrations aren't really specific to either gender, but it's easy to see how spending years being frustrated (even if it's due to own goals) can lead to belief systems that are filled with anger.
2.) I feel judged for having sexual and other desires.
I remember reading a short story during class called the clan of the one-breasted women. (It's a story about folks out near the nuclear bomb test sites in Arizona who have a preponderance of breast cancer).
My wife shared a meme with me the other day about how sex to men was just about them trying to get back into their mother's womb, "how true lol".
I converted to a conservative sect of Christianity in my early twenties which didn't help anything.
I think this applies to other male desires as well such as competitiveness, capacity for violence/physicality.
The larger truth here is that every behavior that is done is being judged by lots of someone on the internet and learning to drown that out is a tough skill to master. Some examples "get a job and stop being lazy" vs "jobs are for suckers" and "4 hour work week". And for the ladies if you put out your a "slut" and if you don't "you're an unfun judgy prude" or a "tease". It's natural for the thing which judges you to be more prominent in your mind.
3.) The alternatives to working hard and being responsible seem really attractive at times.
Everyone talks about porn/video games, but fewer talk about (not political) the hunter biden's, who has kids with like 5 different women and doesn't take care of any of them and seems to have as much sex and drugs as he wants. Not living up to your responsibility to others can seem very enticing, (especially since those folks tend to be the loudest about how great their lives are).
