Writing this NOT for the message board trolls, but for the decent people who are curious enough to be reading these threads and might not know otherwise...
Steve Magness is an AUTHOR. He is far from a "grifty influencer" or whatever else you want to call him. He realized he was more interested (and more talented) at researching coaching and performance than actually coaching or competing himself. Steve has said talked about his role at NOP happening because Salazar was looking for someone young and naive to manipulate into playing along with his dirty games. If anything, Magness deserves a massive kudos for overcoming the abuse tactics of Salazar (the threats, the withheld pay checks, the inconsistent praise and rewards) and deciding to step away from what should've been his dream job. Remember that he was only 24 when he took that position.
As for his current gig, most of you writing on this message board could hold a candle to what he has to offer as far as research insights into coaching and high performance. He routinely tweets and posts things that come from his research and book writing as any author with half a brain would do to advertise their work. Grifty influencers use half baked pseudoscience to claim their steroid-filled bodies are the result of "avoiding seed oils and taking cold plunges".
Just pick up his book on Amazon for like 15$ and do some of your own work to learning more about his story before just bashing on someone shamelessly. I also HIGHLY recommend listening to this interview. Everyone is free to believe what they may about his side of the NOP story, but still he gives a very compelling narrative for his experience and I'd bet solid money none of these message board trolls would have the moral fiber to respond better than Magness did.
