The haha not quite poster is forgetting how much free promotion time Pappas earned in the Hilton-defective TV media guide fiasco.
The media guide would freeze but continue playing her ad for hours. If you were idle and the TV was on, it would revert back to media guide where her ad would play for hours until you either a) turned off the TV or b) had to unplug it because the TV didnt turn off (defective). Just the dumbest luck ever.

Influencers are 99.9% annoying. Alexi was annoying before she became semi-famous. For proof of this just Google her cheering on Jordan Hasay in a track race. When it’s all about promotion of yourself then there’s little oxygen left for others to breathe. Being near these people is a health risk.

I’m a lawyer. I asked about her earnings because people claimed she makes a lot of money but no one ever really mentioned how. Even the guy who answered included some things that are in the past (movie, book) and some speculation (potential future TV deals). I’m not convinced she makes a ton of money. I think she wants people to think she does, though.
Oh Jesus. The IG post with her in a black bikini top. If you click on it and go to other pics, there is a pic of her scrunched down and peeing in the desert. So much talent down the drain. She was definitely projecting sub 31 10K in new spikes if she kept training through Covid vacation.

Seriously! Y'all are too judgemental. Stop with the crying about how she "could've been such as great runner" blah, blah, blah. Grinding out a living on $30-40k from a shoe company is not an appealing way to live for most people. Running around doing fun stuff and taking pictures and getting paid handsomely for it seems like a pretty good gig to me.
If I could make some cash being an instagram or ofans model, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
This isn't wrong--I think many want to do this but there are so many limiting factors and luck is involved--getting famous on Instagram takes a lot of hard work BUT it also takes tons of luck and timing! Even getting likes on FB is difficult due to the algorithm...let alone trying to make a living being a social media influencer.
People do things that they don’t have to explain to you. Why can’t you be happy that she’s successful and living the life she wants? Somehow always leads to name calling or insults. Pathetic.

The saddest thing about American society is that the majority lead very staid and boring lives. Rather than bust out of that self-imposed rut, they want to make anyone different conform to the same existential hell that they reside in. Rather than "live and let live", they get very worked up over anyone quirky, thrill seeking, neurodivergent, odd, etc. and then make it a point to criticize them or even legislate their differences out of existence.
Many folks will never be happy until the nation is only populated by WASPs with an affinity for khakis, golf shirts, soft rock hits, and mayonnaise.
I think people sometimes, after a certain age, feel like they lose the drive they have for life, as careers change and doors close to them that were open in their 20s--and some have regrets of chances not taken...

I would only point out that she did not exactly make that clear on Insta. Whether or not she outright lied, maybe not, but she certainly omitted some information by just posting a bunch of pics of her and Diplo and letting the fans make assumptions about the nature of their association. Though that kind of “truth but not the WHOLE truth” stuff is pretty much SOP for instagram influencer types.
Ali on the Run can be annoying at times but it's still a deep-dive into the sport. Ali usually does good research on the subjects she brings on her show.

She's probably making more than even some STEM folks with BS/MS degrees here. She makes far more than I do and I've got a good job now. I can't hate on her--from my reading of her in several threads she's a hard worker too.

She isn't at the "never have to work ever again" stage of life but there is a lot more money in the things listed above than most people realize.
She's got it made but she's a hard worker to be fair. I think Ali on the Run became famous this way too--she started off as a blogger and then just branched out, made connections in the Northeast (a heavy running scene from the DC area up to Maine) and now is the BAA announcer for the marathon and a famous podcaster.
