The quartet ultimately beat the former record by 6.06, finishing in a time of 10:33.85. MacLean, the 2022 U.S. 1500m champion, opened it up running 1200m in 3:14.92. Ellis, who was part of the USA 4 x 400 gold winning team in the Tokyo Olympics, followed with 400m in 52.04. Then
Willis clocks 2:01.06 to surpass 2:01.93 leg by Martinez in 2017, teaming with Whittaker, Valmon and Tanaka to help Stanford run 10:55.15, as Gregory anchors in 4:29.89 for Arkansas; Davis builds on world long jump lead for F...
1200: Esther Seeland (3:17) or Juliette Whittaker (3:18)
400: Britton Wilson (51)
800: Roisin Willis (2:01)
1600: Katelyn Tuohy (4:23)
could break the world record with 10:32. All are 22 or younger, and all have freshman/sophomore eligibility except Seeland. Or an NC State all-star team of Tuohy/Henes on the 1200/1600 legs, Bush on the 800, and Griffin on the 400 could maybe do it.

Actually we don’t know that they could break the world record. Maybe but remember that KT was chasing down other teams so maybe with competition they could but maybe not solo.

Sophie O'Sullivan ran 3:16 when Wash set the record. Granted she had a pacer, but still.
Tuohy's plan was supposed to break the Indoor 5k record at ACCs but the plan changed last minute, she was entered in the DMR and it became a DMR NCAA record attempt. The worst thing that could happen, happened for them. Their 400m leg got injured. No record for Tuohy this week. No gold for their DMR team.

No way they were attempting the DMR record with a 3:24 lead off.

I have no idea if there is any thruth to this, but maybe they thought they could get 3:22/0:55/2:05 and 4:24 for 10:46 which would be right at the record
Yes they were attempting to break the DMR record with Shaw in the lead off. Tuohy was going to make up for it anyways. What they didn't expect was their 400m leg getting injured.
