Have you ever met a 51 year old who could recite the script of Billy Madison word-for-word? Don't even try me.
Regarding the thread topic: most relationships with large age gaps do not involve famous actors. More common is that an insecure high school girl is courted/befriended by an older man while she is still a minor, and is then pounced upon once she becomes legal (or earlier!). Some people might call this "biology" or "natural preferences," but I would call it grooming. The men who pursue these relationships are not "high-status," they are predators.
This is not a blanket condemnation. I'm sure there are some old/young relationships that do not involve abusive power dynamics. But they often do. There are good reasons to be skeptical of men who chase very young women and the idea that this is somehow unfair or hypocritical or due entirely to "jealousy" is absurd.
yes older women are jealous of the youthful beauty of younger women, duh.
however, as a 40-something year old I would not date leonardo dicaprio. Not jealous of that part.
And to those of you saying "no man would ever choose a 48 year old over a 19 year old" I do feel sorry for you as you will likely never have real love or connection in your life. Some people actually want a reasonably attractive woman that gives them real love and companionship and faithfulness, not a transactional sort of relationship like this one where she gets money/status/fame and he gets sex with a young person.
If the 48 year old woman is someone I'm already married to and has stuck with me through thick and thin, of course I'm picking her. Every single time.
But if I'm 48, single, and capable of dating 19 year old women: what makes it any more likely that a 48 year old woman will give me "real love and companionship and faithfulness" than a 19 year old? Why is a relationship with a 48 year old woman *to whom I am not already married* inherently less transactional? If I'm not hot/charming/interesting as a 48 year old man, and my selling point is just that I'm rich, then that's still my same selling point to the either the 19 year old or the 48 year old.
I'm more trad than anyone here. The ideal relationship is to get married young to your first, to save your sexuality for that person alone, and to explore that sexuality mutually for exciting decades ahead. Most long-married guys here, if they're being honest, can attest to the existence of wife goggles: to some extent, you see your wife today as you saw her when you first began dating. It's very cool. The 48 year old you love still looks 22!
This approach works. The other approach is: sexual liberation, what matters is autonomy maximization and preference seeking, you're a chud if you're clinging to the antiquated notions of blahblahblah. THAT approach is not optimal, but if you're gonna go with it....go with it. One can't cheer on sexual liberation and drawn-out serial monogamy & soft rotational polygamy on the one hand and then, on the other, start berating someone for continuing to maximize his own autonomy just because options haven't dwindled. Pick a lane. The problem with sex-positive pop feminism (and that's all that exists anymore lol) is that it has no lane.
I agree with your philosophy on love/marriage. All other things being equal I get that a man would choose a 19 year old over a 48 year old. But all other things are not equal.
Statistically speaking, the man is going to have a lot more in common with the 48 year old woman. She's probably less likely to leave you to explore her promiscuous 20-something phase. She's probably more likely prepared for the trials that you will both face as you age, and better prepared to love you in your older years despite your body falling apart.
love to see the old bags seething. go leo, do ya thing. last night while driving i told a 50 year old woman she looked like she was 100. she tried to insult me back but i just said she looked so old she was about to die and then she tried to run me off the road. that's life...
Women and men are both jealous of Leo but of course they'll try to disguise their jealousy as pointing the finger at Leo for dating out of his age bracket.
Women are jealous because they know younger women are better looking and more sexually desired. Women compete with each other and are generally jealous of the youthful beautiful women who get the most desirable men.
Men are jealous because they wish they were a high value man like Leo who has his choice of women. Most men are not able to do that and have to settle for what they can get. The men who are mad about the age gap would secretly jump at the opportunity but they're either too scared to do that or simply not a high value man who could pull it off.

Tell me you're single without telling me your single.
No man who's actually in love with a woman would trade her in for a younger model.
Only shallow people would do this.
When Leo turns 70 and his sole interest in life quits working he's going to find out that the 19 year old has nothing at all to offer.
Immaturity on his part. Daddy issues and/or gold digging on her part. Pathetic.
This is the truth. Younger girls are not more attracted to old guys (even attractive old guys like dicaprio) than guys their own age. They just like the gifts & money. Men fool themselves by thinking that the girls are attracted to them when the age gap is this big.
Men fool themselves by thinking that the girls are attracted to them, and not their income/job/social-status, all the time. Don't do any research into this subject if you value your mental health and current image of female sexuality.
With the age gap I can hardly see how a relationship would really work, but not sure I see the moral implications. Anyone who claims to be morally outraged over this relationship is jelly.
The moral implications, if there are any, lie in the fact that there is no possible way that a 19 y-o could possibly be as knowledgeable, worldly or capable as a 50 y-o. As a result, there is automatically a significant power imbalance between the two of them.
It is arguably immoral to be in a sexual relationship with someone who is simply unable to negotiate on an equal footing with oneself. This is the basis for all laws and social mores against sexual relationships with children. So, no, it is not about being "jelly".

Tell me you're a cvck without telling me you're a cvck. Actually, you pretty much did.
For what its worth, I used to chill with DiCaprio and his posse for years. They are all good men. We all considered Leo the alpha of the group and thought he was hilarious. He is the one who taught me the basics of sex.
I think you view 19 differently when you have kids who are teens. My friend's daughter is 19 and we are about Leo's age. Her daughter just got her first boyfriend in college and is all giggly about it and on the phone with him constantly. I cannot imagine her with Leo in a relationship of equals. Sure, he has no kids and probably spends much of his time also playing video games. But I don't think women our age are jealous. I think they see it as sort of predatory because the older we get, the younger young people seem. It's more like, don't touch my child. Maybe a 32-yr-old would be jealous cause there's some anxiety about getting older when you are still actually young.
