63 year old female, 48 years running. I generally only compete in one season, cross country, but run almost every day. Cross country keeps me motivated to do harder workouts and stay fit and I like being on a team. But I also really want to be outside running every day - it helps me de-stress from my job and I love running on the trails in the forest, especially if it's light outside. But I'll run loops in the dark on a grass field, or go out on the road if necessary because I'd rather run than not. My times are definitely slower, but on the trail I can feel strong and fast. Keeping a consistent age-grade score is also a goal. Overall it makes me happy.

I ran club xc, not the USA one. Clubs are usually a lot of fun and my team won.
15 miles per week? When you are over 55 it often takes 3 or 4 miles just to warm up and feel fluid. Why run the worst part and quit just before you get the shifter into overdrive? Besides many of the world's problem I solve during my runs take longer than 30 minutes to work out.

To the OP; I’ve been coming to this site probably over 15+ years and have to say, I’ve gain alot of knowledge and support (believe or not) from this site. Granted you have to have a back bone to tolerate the non-sense and the boy’s locker mentality and yet had good advice over the years, however I think as a true running community, we will continue to support one another via future crypto blockchain, metaverse, and AI..😘
