Bale fouled with his back to the net at the back of the box. Terrible foul--even if he had all ball. Where were the red or yellow cards on the hard fouls, one with two hands, on Pulisic. The US is the most skilled with the ball of any US team we've seen. They are very good at passing in very little space and holding, also very good at winning possession, but terrible at set plays and in creating anything in the box. Pulisic was very good but could not provide a really good center where anyone could do anything with it, just those curving balls to the side of the box. They had many occasions where they were in the box but couldn't even get a shot. They need still to learn how to manufacture goals the way all the European teams do, be in the right spot for headers and follows on crosses, better set plays, etc. Still, the future is as bright as it's ever been for the USMNT, with so many 24 or younger. Next cup in four years should give us a decent shot at the semis (and a very good shot at the quarters) for the first time since 1950.
