Now that Democrats have 50, U.S. Senate, H Walker will likely lose. What motivation is there to vote for H Walker now?
The big note is we are now being sold the story that the Dems may keep the House.
GA vote now meaningless
I’m confident in Georgians to bring it home for Warnock. The prospect of having Herschel Walker as our senator is just too ridiculous. Also Carmine, why do you never answer my questions about your political leanings? You seem to support the Republicans even though you’ve expressed support for certain far left type ideologies before. You’ve sounded like a Bernie bro in the past, so why support the Republicans?
Lol where’s that red wave again? Right wingers go home devastated! This is what happens when you pick clowns to run for senate, even the most hardcore lib knew that Biden and Dems were coming in at a substantial disadvantage, even considering it was a midterm election. It takes either huge clown energy or a special type of vileness to put up the humiliating performance Rethuglicans did in this midterm
Red wave ? Blue trash compactor.... the coasts of blue are slowing moving in and crushing the red trash in the middle. Soon the compactor will be fully closed and America will be entirely blue
Most of us don't want Biden in office. Most of us are inspired by what the Dems have done and continue to do. So there are plenty of votes to be had. But most of us don't want what the republicans are unapologetically pushing even more. Policies aside, many of the candidates in the GOP are whack jobs. Loonies. Societal rejects. I mean Herschel Walker , really? And then you have good people like Liz Cheney getting pushed out. Completely moronic. I voted blue because my alternative options were election deniers and nuts. Y'all need to push folks like Cheney, Kemp and Sununu to the top. Then you'll get more independent and moderate dems voting red.
Yep. We voted AGAINST Trump, not FOR Biden.
Some things about Biden though:
1) He's just OLD. He doesn't have dementia.
2) He has done more in the first 2 years than any President in my lifetime.
3) He gets an A+ for remaining humble despite the big Democrat midterm and still giving respect to the NORMAL Republicans on the other side of the aisle.
4) He has done a better job than I expected or even required of him.
5) He's wrong about the student loan forgiveness though...BUT, I will say that I don't blame people with loans that are hoping for that forgiveness...but it's not good policy.

Business friendly people never think it’s good to bail out people simple because they don’t want them to expect the same treatment as the business elite
Manchin is the epitome of pork. "I will not cast my vote Dem unless you give energy companies a deal, one which prospers me and my daughter of course."
And for the record, GOP administrations have far outspent Dem administrations in my lifetime. That is a GOP narrative spun to fool uninformed, like crime, etc. I guess when you do not present any policies that help average people you grasp at lies against the other side.
60 cents of every dollar the US government spends goes to Democrat entitlements.
Democrats have 60% of all Federal spending baked in no matter who is in power.
It is completely ignorant to pretend that Republicans outspend Democrats.
So, tax cuts for the richest 1% are not entitlements? I would much rather pay for things that help average people. And GOP titled "entitlements" are things like social security which people pay into their entire lives.
Completely ignorant? Completely ignorant is burying your head to the FACT that the GOP administrations add more to the debt (spending above revenue) regardless what it is spent on. Shouting from the rooftop otherwise does not change that fact.
Dems have pushed for affordable health care, a working wage, increased veteran benefits, prescription cost caps, energy company gouging legislation,..... The GOP voted "no" on all of these things. And red states collect far more federal money than they collect.
How would you like to see tax money spent? And most of all, what has the GOP done for you? What are their policies moving forward?
I am not a big fan of either party, but currently it is night and day. What does the GOP stand for?
We won the House...In anyones book that is a big win....nuff said.
That comment shows ZERO understanding of what just happened. Typically in a midterm election, the party in the White House loses TENS of seats. With inflation the highest it has been in 40 years and an OLD and not super popular Democrat in the White House, Republicans should have destroyed Democrats in the House. Ya didn't. BIG loss for Republicans. The blame lies at the feet of Donald Trump and the idiotic overturning of Roe v. Wade. Your party is currently both NUTS and EXTREME. I mean, holy sh!t, Clarence Thomas has been talking about banning contraception. WTF is that?
Democrats just scored BIG with ALL single women AND EVERYONE under the age of 40. If Republicans want to get any of that back, they need to change their tune, and BIG TIME. This is not the land of The Handmaid's Tale.
WI, MI, and PA just went BIG TIME Democrat. If that continues to the 2024 election, there's no chance for a Republican in the White House. When you consider that all things point to the economy being even BETTER by 2024 (inflation will have dropped to normal levels), it is going to be near impossible for a Republican to win the White House sans a very rare thing like involvement in an unpopular war, HUGE scandal in the White House or Biden having serious health issues right before the election.
The "boy" part of your name is correct. You've got some growing up and some learning yet to do. Good luck!

I get that point. It's still bad policy to forgive student loans, ESPECIALLY in times when jobs are so plentiful. Those students took out the loans. They did not HAVE to. I know some people are against it because they say it's "not fair." I don't care about fairness. Just not a good idea to forgive loans that people took out. It's also targeting the smarter and more elite among us. I submit that a waitress could use $10,000 to pay off any loans (credit cards, etc.) that she may have taken out.

Excellent post!
Democrats also got infrastructure repairs going and passed the CHIP act which has ALREADY seen many high-tech companies making investments into the United States which will result in good-paying jobs.
There has never in my lifetime been such a clear difference between the two major parties.
Democrats care about people (and Republicans don't), and what they have done in Biden's first two years is actually remarkable. I suppose we should thank Donald Trump for single-handedly losing the White House, the House and the Senate in 2020 so that all these great things for the American people could be accomplished.

Being able to keep more of your own money isn't an entitlement. That is all tax cuts are, the government letting you keep your own cash.

How is letting someone keep their own money an entitlement??
60 cents of every dollar the government spends is spent on entitlements created by Democrats.
Even if we pretend that 100% of all other spending is purely Republican pork the Democrats are still responsible for 60% of the debt.
You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.
Democrats push for a lot of things that "feel" good but they never think ANYTHING through.
Healthcare is currently unaffordable because Democrats injected the government into the system. The answer is NEVER more government.
The government wastes almost every dollar it steals from the people. It makes no sense at all to vote Democrat unless you're one of the 50% of Americans who pay zero income tax and don't have any skin in the game.
Being able to keep more of your own money isn't an entitlement. That is all tax cuts are, the government letting you keep your own cash.
Are you aware that those tax cuts went to the richest 1% only. The lower class was not affected. The middle class had escalating tax increases over several years. Those expire soon and Biden has expressed that they will NOT be extended. Taxes went up on the middle class.
Billionaires keeping money they gain from the backs of working people is an entitlement. Trump won an election on the premise of making america great again. Many saw this returning women and minorities to second class citizens. If he meant it economically, America was at it's strongest when the richest 1% was taxed at 67% Reagan made a huge cut and trump put it down to 24%. I am not sure what is appropriate, but cutting taxes only for those in that bracket IS an entitlement.
A Senate seat is 6 years. There’s huge motivation for Republicans or Democrats to have that seat locked up for the next 6 years.
If a Republican wins the White House in 2024 and no Senate seats flip in that election, then thus Georgia runoff in December would determine Senate control in 2025.
I think that's a harder sell to the voting public.

So health care was not increasing prior to the Affordable Care Act? Where I live it was increasing astronomically. States that expanded it (blue) prospered and costs leveled. States (red) that didn't expand, has had significantly rising costs. McConnell pleaded states to not expand so that the GOP could claim it was govt. intervention pushing costs. He said this publicly.
Far too many people just accept what their party says and parrots it without any thought or education what-so-ever.

I can usually tell where most consistent posters fall on the political spectrum. Most of the time they will outright say it. I can’t with Carmine though. Adult claims that he’s a leftist, and it’s true that Carmine has said some super leftist things before. Basically communist/socialist anti billionaire Bernie bro stuff, but he clearly is rooting for Republicans to win and espouses many conspiracy theories promoted heavily by far right extremists. So it’s a bit hard to tell and that’s why I ask directly.

You should definitely push this argument as aggressively as you can for the next two years.
Make sure you let everyone know you want get government out of healthcare, and turn it over to the market and private industry’s “efficiency”. You should also do the same for Social Security. Tell people they’re better off letting Wall Street give them private accounts. I’m sure it’ll continue to resonate and result in major rewards come election time.
FYI… everyone’s favorite billionaires don’t pay income tax. Not only that… they don’t pay payroll taxes either. They only pay <14% in capital gains taxes. Meanwhile, you’ve convinced yourself you think independently while posting anonymously on a running message board.

What has the GOP done for you?
Medicare was already inflating costs long before ACA came along.
Would you eat at a restaurant if there were no prices on the menu? Even worse than that if you ask what your meal costs the restaurant would have no idea.
You say abortion should be solely between a woman and her doctor but you're happy with knee surgery being between a patient, health insurance, lobbyists, and then the doctor.
I'm not a republican. The main role of the parties to me is preventing the other party from doing crazy things. Since 2008 the crazy party has been predominantly the Democrats.
Preventing the Democrats from ruining the country with more of their poorly thought out disastrous policies is more than enough reason to vote GoP.
