i always thought the tracks and fancy shoes have improved performances a bit.unless thats all a myth,to cover up the rampant mass doping in the sport today?
If this kid is doped out of his mind on the evidential basis that his Strava says he runs 50 KM per week, then Tony Van Diepen is probably 90% EPO, 10% man. Guy is a 1:44 runner on just 6KM per week!!!

This would all be avoided if the Brojos told the mods to introduce a new rule on doping discussion. Any thread celebrating the achievement of a runner should not have doping accusations, but people are free to post a thread - 'is xx doping?' where anything goes.
Maybe there are special issues regarding young (as in U18) athletes too. Doping accusations against African 'juniors' aren't so much of a problem, because firstly they are justified given the doping record (and age cheating), and secondly, social media etc isn't such a big thing.
If I type 'Niels Laros' into Google, this thread appears in 4th place, on the first page. A thread now full of doping accusations against him (based mainly on the fact that his Strava says he runs 50KM a week and he runs faster than guys 60 years ago running in boots on grass.
Here he is winning the 3000m at the U18 championships. Nice to see him doing the Jakob/Ovett wave in the home straight. Pretty sure the explosion in talent in Europe over the last 10 years has been at least partly due to kids watching classic Ovett races on YouTube.
