1. She is old for the grade. Not just months, like at the old end of the normal Senior spectrum, but an entire year older. So, a bit more than a year older than average or closer to 2 (1-3/4?) years older than the young end of the spectrum. This seems to be fact.

Age is a better comparison than education level

For her to be “1 3/4 years older than average” then the average high school senior would have to be 17 years and 3 months old at graduation. Do you realize how dumb that statement is now?
Trend where i live of parents “holding back” kids with fall and early winter birthdays (ex not sending September 2004 baby to kindergarten that year). Seen it stretched in a few cases as early as July, I could see a parent doing it in May or June if they felt like it. Also kids reclass and go to prep school to be a year ahead in other sports all the time. They make no secret of it. Don’t think 19 is a problem

The chance for that would be at the Wooo Pig Classic at Arkansas, which OSU ran last year, Roe getting the school record for 3K in 8:58. Lauren Gregory won the 5000 in 15:34. Coming off of XC, a healthy cook could smash 15:20.

There's a big difference between a 19 yr old and 18 yr old with regard to running. To get a true sense of talent just look at age group times. It doesn't matter once you reach 20 plus. No discredit to Natalie, it's not like she planned it out.
We need to get rid of school competitions altogether. Everything should be club based according to age groupings. No more 16 year old eighth grade Verzbicas racing munchkins, or 25 year old Cheserek setting high school records or any BYU grampas. It is beyond ridiculous now.
Isn't it enough that we have rampant high school PED usage?
It's not just Texas, it's nationwide. Many of my daughter and son's teammates in college had an extra yr of pre-k and were old. Actually saw it more in very well off kids up north.
I will say some of us would LOVE to have our kids start K when the school year starts, but can't due to school district rules. The District we live in has a September 1st cut-off to enroll a kid for school; my daughter being a September 4th baby will have to wait almost a whole year to start kindergarten, until she's almost 6. We've asked everyone in the District to let her start this year, her Pre-K has written a letter and followed up and yet we get nothing. Sometimes it's not a parent's choice.

Little league baseball based on kids age regardless of grade. Makes it fair. There are too many age cheats out there providing ridiculous comparisons
Cade Flatt and Natalie Cook 2 obvious examples. Dont get me wrong they are both excellent athletes but look at how they performed last year if you want a meaningful comparison - they were both very good but NOT exceptional
