I don't have a top 5 lost but I have a top 2 so far ahead of anywhere else I've been and both are close enough to visit in one trip: Siena and Pienza in Tuscany
1. Rome - so much history. loved how there'd be a bunch of random ancient ruins on a corner that would be a huge deal in most places but weren't even worth mentioning in Rome
2. Budapest - Really enjoy the Danube and all the bridges
3. Amsterdam - Can be a bit dirty but like the cobblestone streets, tall houses, and city layout around all the canals. Always interesting people and things to see while walking around. Lots of bikes and a good public transport system with the trolleys.
4. New Orleans - French quarter specifically... interesting architecture. Good food, culture, and music.
5. Cape Town - Lots to do. Nice beaches. Table Mountain is a must see.
Left off US cities but places I like -- San Diego, San Fransisco, Chicago, Portland (OR + ME), Seattle, New Orleans, Austin, Minneapolis, Providence, Burlington, Indy
All over the place but I would put New Orleans, Austin, San Diego, at the top. Really like the small east coast cities too- Providence, Burlington, Portland.
