the end of that Lex Young interview was too funny... somehow he managed to sound cheerful and positive even as he stepped away to barf! great race, hope he feels better soon lol
miles has more balls than any of y’all rpi bozos bc he didn’t even insult you guys at all when you went way out of ur way to f with his race. grow up and show some respect
Not to get lost in the shuffle, junior Tyrone Gorze (Crater HS, Oregon) ran 14:00.34... Very impressive to say the least...One heck of a junior class this year.
The previous junior class record was 13:57 in indoors by Edward Cheserek. Some might not count it as he was a year old due to his immigration to the us, so if you exclude him the next fastest junior was actually Leo Young, (14:05) however there's an asterix on that one too because it was ran on aa grass course during XC. So excluding XC results, and overaged runners, the fastest junior 5k would seem to be Alex Ostberg's 14:16 at outdoor nationals. Which means that both Lex and Gorze went under this 'record'
Lex Young, second fastest high school 5,000m run ever...as a junior
Only 9s slower than Jakob at the same age.
US U18 record
Not sure who had record before him
Galen set the record the summer after he graduated from high school, broke Lindgren's high school record of 13:44.0 (set in 1964) and Franklin Sanchez's U.S. junior record of 13:38.59 (set in 2001).

U18 ("youth") record is different than junior record (U20) and high school record. this was a U18 record but not the latter 2
