If I were him I’d go altitude right now. And run an 18.99 to be the first man ever to under 19 seconds. And it will be the world record. Of course it will have an “A”next to it as being set it altitude but so did Mennea’s record from 1979 to 1996. It was simply the world record until Johnson broke it.
In the marathon Kipchoge broke two hours and will always be known as the first guy that did it —and it will be forgotten that it wasn’t perfectly legal circumstances. Ashton Lambie in cycling broke the 4000 m world record with a 3:59 last year and will always be known as the guy who first went under four minutes. And it is the official WR.
While I’m at it, Norman should go too and make a sub 43 attempt.
