Jenna Mulhern 5K in 16:07.50 . Pretty good for someone not named Natalie Cook.
Cook has really pulled ahead of all of the other high school girls.
Angelina Perez's 3k that she ran yesterday at Penn in 9:18 supposedly converts to a 15:59 in the 5k, which sounds about right. But that would still be 34 seconds behind Cook.
15:25 Cook
15:59 Perez
16:07 Mulhern
Perez and Mulhern are REALLY good, but they would be half a lap behind Cook. Wow!

I think the list of sub 16 hs girls is pretty short - when Tuohy broke the record it had been 15:53 or something
That's what I mean. Cook's 15:25 is way out there. It almost doesn't seem possible for a high school girl. Most college women never run 15:25.

It is and coupled with the negative split 9:44 2 mile she is pretty darn good. I think Tuohy was that fit - but she never ran those times.
WV boy. Lets gooooo
tuohy never ran that 5k yea but then consider the fact that she ran only against the clock and against her 15 year old self, while cook was paced by professionals and had professional runners to chase, super spikes, perfect outdoor conditions ..and her being almost 19, which is basically a college freshman
natalie cook undoubtedly good, but she haven't broken any of tuohy's records
HSR in mile, 3200, 3000, i5000 ..and a 4:14 1500m

Tuohy is pretty aerodynamic so that might help her
Please explain how you arrived at the conclusion that Tuohy is "pretty aerodynamic" and the other runners aren't.
How is Tuohy "pretty aerodynamic" with her thick and long hair getting blown all over, being in one with the wind?
CW: 4x1500
1st exchange, 4:16 (Arkansas steps ahead of NC State and BYU)
2nd exchange, 4:06 (NC State in lead by a few meters)
Correction:
4x1500, 1st exchange at time 4:16, Arkansas steps ahead of NC State and BYU
2nd leg done in 4:09 split per announcer, NC State leading over Arkansas (didn't catch running time)
3rd leg, Arkansas passes NC State w/300m to go on leg. Baton exchange at time 12:42, Arkansas has 2 second lead over NC State.
Its already going?
4x1500:
anchor legs are Krissy Gear and Kathyln Tuohy. With 2 laps to go, Gear only about 2 steps ahead of Tuohy
Meet is running about 15 minutes ahead of schedule. And live results aren't showing splits yet.
Tuohy passes Gear about 50 meters before the final lap marker, time 15:48.
Gear pulls even with Tuohy w/300m to go, battling down the back stretch, Gear gets lead at 200m to go into final turn.
Gear holds off Tuohy by 5 steps, Arkansas wins in 16:53.87! NC State 16:55.19
I am present at the meet by the relay finishing line. The names and splits are what have been announced on the PA system.
What were the splits? KT showed some inexperience. Should have just stayed behind Gear until the final lap.
Touhy choked again
I don't know any of the individual splits other than what I previously posted in this thread.
I wouldn't day Tuohy "choked" or was inexperienced. Gear just had the better finish.
Excluding a team with Houlihan, that's an AR
thanks for the updates..very appreciated...sounds like a great race.
