You do realize that Elon Musk is a liberal, right?
But Dems have moved away from traditional liberal ideals to a more totalitarian Marxist direction. Things that used to be considered liberal will get you called a conservative today.
No, not even close... I come from a country where there is an actual notable Marxist demographic and to say that Democrats in the US are Socialists or Marxists or even approaching either is laughable. Marxists here are still considered far left of our mostly social Democracy leaning population. And US Democrats would be considered way right of us on a global political spectrum. For instance, a lot of Western Europe is left leaning and it would be dumb to call Europe Marxist, and the US is much much farther right than Western Europe.
The problem in the US is its a political duopoly so its fashionable to throw out terms like Marxists, Communists at the left. Because the US doesn't have multiple parties, if there was actually a major Marxist or Socialist party in the US, you would understand just how far apart they and Democrats are.
The US is a hugely capitalistic country both on the left and the right, nothing close to Marxism exists there. And if anyone says they are turning into Socialist or Marxists or Communists, It shows just much of a vacuum they are living in.
I'd just like to commend Elon for being the embodiment of the American dream: An African-American and first generation immigrant who has risen to become the richest man in the world. This is what makes America great.

Thank you for that comment.
I was always thinking that the US has no idea what left leaning means. In Europe Obama would have been considered a center right politician.
And the people who throw around terms like Marxism, Communism or so have no idea what they actually mean.

Obama was far left in 2008. Today he's a moderate.

Obama is a near socialist. He is just pragmatic enough to realize America wasn't ready for that and pushed as far as he thought he could go since at that time Socialism was truly reviled by 90% of Americans. I'd say about 40% of Democrats in America are pretty close to Socialists. The left has given the party controls over to the Bernie's and Warren's and AOC's who are full on socialists.
And no Obama is not considered center right anywhere in the world.
As Twitter desperately tries to fend off his hostile takeover bid, Elon Musk could be facing another potential battle with the federal government, with both the Securities And Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Department of J...
Elon grew up unbelievably rich. The #1 thing that Zuckerberg, Gates, etc. have in common is that they were all top 1% growing up and therefore had access to the best schools, capital to start their businesses, a fallback plan in case things didn't work, and so on.
In addition to that massive headstart, Elon is a childish, immature buffoon who coasts on the back of others. He didn't start Tesla -- he took it over as a board investor -- and a lot of other successes are really just him piggybacking off of amazing engineers. You'd have never heard the name Steve Jobs in your life if he didn't befriend Steve Wozniak; Elon is the same way.
He sucks. His open-mouth ballwasher fanboys are even worse. Dude runs one of the most unprofitable businesses of all-time, gets bailed out by the government via subsidies and retail investors, and yet he gets jerked off constantly by other incel autists who get hot because he trolls other people. It's beyond sad.

African American?
First generation immigrant?
Are these not appropriate terms to describe someone from Africa who moved to the US and became a citizen?

Musk fled South Africa at age 17 to avoid being drafted in the military.

This post is garbage. It SOUNDS good but there are no concrete examples. This post even says "for instance..." and goes on to provide a vague claim of generalizations. No specific examples of policies to compare. Just a bunch of baseless claims.

If its so easy, why dont you do it?
Even if someone gave you $200k to start a business, I bet youd still F up the opportunity.
The concept of free speech applies to public domain, i.e. the government doesn't have the right to restrict the speech of private individuals, no matter how abhorrent others may find it. Private companies have the right to restrict speech in whatever manner they want on their own platforms, so Twitter isn't violating free speech. Nevertheless, it is very much true that Twitter is evil, that they are suppressing opposition to totalitarian leftism. In the name of protecting people from false speech, they are suppressing true speech and promoting false speech, so they are the very evil they claim to be fighting. Twitter and the world will be far better off under Elon's control, although totalitarian leftist won't like it.
That argument that Twitter is a private company and can moderate its platform the way it sees fit is logically coherent and, I think, not in dispute. Anyone who uses this argument is self-contained fashion (and I don't think you are doing this...I'm talking about ppl who say this and act like it settles the matter) are ignoring something very important: Twitter has a virtual monopoly when it comes to mircoblogging. "Don't like it? Make your own Twitter!" is what ppl who are careless with following through their flimsy premise will say. Um...that's been done. Parler. Gab. Do we need a refresher course on what happened here?

Little men with fragile egos have a primal need to tear down their betters. It makes them feel better about their failures for some reason.
Imagine how F'ing stupid you need to be to make the argument that the richest man alive is just a mooch... lol.
* in terms of healthcare, most centre right parties in Europe suggest to introduce or increase copay for less important issues and/or have more private actors, while retaining the single-payer insurance (e.g. sécurité sociale, NHS). In other words, they would like to heed towards a situation similar to "Medicare for all".
-> The European centre right is aligned with the liberal wing of the Democratic party in terms of healthcare.
* in terms of abortion, the centre right is typically pro-choice except in a few countries (NI, Poland). In France (where the right liberalised abortion), the only thing the far right has mentioned is to stop funding it 100% via the national health insurance but I think it didn't even make it to the official program.
-> The EU centre right is aligned with moderate to liberal Democrats on abortion
* in terms of University, free or extremely cheap college is widespread in the EU (not the UK though) and no major party is suggesting to do otherwise. The Germans tried for a while but they backtracked.
-> All parties, including most far-right ones, align with the liberal wing of the Democrats on college funding.
And so on... death penalty (it has minority support among the traditional right politicians), minimum wage (the right won't deindex on inflation and/or growth), labour laws (no one would ever consider "at will" in the French or German right).
The only topics the European centre right parties aligns with the Republicans or Conservative Democrats I can think of are immigration (the policies put in place by the right are stricter than in the USA) and, to some extent, policing (although not to the extremes seen in the USA, and some countries' right wings do not at all, like the UK or Germany).
(Hell, even the Chilean right legalised gay marriage and recognised sex change. Yes, the scions of Pinochet. That's just to say how far to the right the US society is right now.)
