Masks work if you have an N95 and you wear it properly. No elementary school kid alive is wearing their mask properly and virtually none of them use N95's. Are you ignorant or just dishonest?

With a straight face you say vaccines stop infection... And if you have 2 shots and a booster it's even as high as 50%!

The director of the CDC says the vaccines don't stop transmission. And then she recommends you wear the mask her own study says doesn't work.

I'm vaccinated. I've never encouraged anyone to not get vaccinated.

I don't watch TV but I am aware of the RCTs from Bangladesh that showed a modest but present benefit to wearing surgical masks. Given the very low cost of implementation, masking is clearly worth it in areas of high case load. I am all in favor of dropping masking as case load in a community drops.

If you accidentally touch your mask, wash or sanitize your hands.

If your mask becomes wet or dirty, switch to a clean one. Put the used mask in a sealable bag until you can get rid of it or wash it.

Remove the mask by untying it or lifting off the ear loops without touching the front of the mask or your face. Fold the outside corners together.

Wash your hands immediately after removing your mask.

Regularly wash cloth masks in the washing machine or by hand.

If you think even 25% of adults let alone 1 single 4th grader are following those guidelines you are absolutely delusional.

That is quite good for a low cost intervention where every % point against an exponential virus = many ,many cases prevented. I agree the CDC's report has effect sizes are too large but they don't need to be that big to make masking well worth it.

In no universe does mandating masks for people with a ZERO percent risk of getting a serious case of COVID because it has a 12% benefit make sense.

If you’re ok with kids missing more schools days to infections and sick teachers then sure!

I think the focus should be on keeping kids in school not politically charged anti-masking campaigns based on subjective assessments of the burdens of masks.

When community transmission rates fall masks aren’t needed anymore. But when they are high schools are good place to mask. Lots of transmission and high social cost for schools shutting down!

We probably agree more than you think. I just don’t but the political BS that’s masking kids is some great evil. If it keeps them in school during times of high case counts. It’s necessary.

Okay, let's say a mask is 50% effective. If you get exposed twice, your odds of avoiding infection are 0.5^2 = 25%. After 10 times, it's 0.5^10 = 0.1%. In the long term, it does complete f***-all at preventing infection

Fauci has already said that everyone is going to get COVID. Regardless of vaccination status, mask wearing, EVERYONE is going to get COVID and Fauci admits that. Spread will reach 100%.

If mask mandates worked, then that argument wouldn't make sense, because lifting the mask mandate would *cause* transmission to spike. But we all know that's not what will happen, at this point covid cases follow seasonal patterns and don't care what "masks" most people are wearing.

Where was your outrage when BLM was looting and burning cities down??? That was called a "peaceful protest" while these truckers are being called terrorists.

There were literally autonomous zones in several cities where police and medical weren't allowed in. They were receiving shipments of bricks dropped off in cities so they can use them to riot and smash windows. They burned down local restaurants. Silence from the liberals.
